President Barack Obama delivered withering criticism of the 2016 presidential debate Monday, saying its tone was not worthy of voters.
Obama zeroed in on comments by Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee to decry attention-grabbing "outrageous attacks that have become all too commonplace" in American politics.
Obama described Huckabee's suggestion that a historic nuclear deal between Iran and world powers earlier this month was marching Israelis to the "door of the oven," as part of a "general pattern" that would be "considered ridiculous if it weren't so sad".
Obama also took issue with Trump's "outrageous" comments about the war record of Republican Senator John McCain, who was a Vietnamese prisoner of war.
"These are leaders of the Republican party," he said.
"It's not the kind of leadership that is needed for America right now and I don't think that's what anybody, Democrat, Republican or independent is looking for.
"We are creating a culture that is not conducive to good policy or good politics, the American people deserve better," Obama said.

Let’s see how quickly Trump retorts to this one.
I would agree with him if he was talking about his own administration...
“Oh, you were finished! Well, allow me to retort.”
Uh oh! There’s that “tone” thing popping up again.
Did he have anything to say about O’Malley’s “all lives matter” fiasco? That’s blatant racism, but I guess it’s OK, it’s part of the Dem process of give and take (we give, they take)?
From the guy who sat in Jeremiah Wrights church for 20 years. Spare me.
The Clown has some pretty big cojones criticizing “the tone” of anything.
"We support King Obama and every illegal alien
against the Bible- and gun-toting American voters.
Yes, we promised we would stop ObamaCARE, ObamaTRADE.
Yes, we promised we would stop the actions of
our beloved King Obama. So what.
We also support the IRS attacks on American scum."
There is no 2016 Presidential Debate
Ther ARE some 2016 REPUBLICAN Presidential candidates being quite vocal about more than a couple of issues .... but
never mind ....
This must be the harbinger of Bill Gates' common core sight readers.
Shut up, Kenyan!
I dont know about that. A presidential candidate that will speak the unvarnished truth to this administration of American hating tyrants is exactly what I am looking for.
And when the praetorian guard media start with their epithets of racism that candidate needs to call them on their lie that only a racist would criticize this president.
Marked to read later. I am so very interested to hear what The Dictator has to say on the subject. I can’t I am
Well maybe we should bring a gun, Hussein, to the gunfight. Maybe we should make sure that wreak vengeance, per ValJar. It’s of no use to say “We won”, of course, because with the bunch we have in Congress, we didn’t.
Sorry, nobody (and I mean NOBODY) pays attention to Obama, tones or otherwise.
Hence his increasing need for stealth EOs.
This dog eatin’, 88 handicappin’, cracka’s wannabe, needs to sit down and shut up.
I can’t wait. (I’m so excited is didn’t check my VR.)
That’s rich coming from this unpresidential nasty piece of work.
