Scott Walkers budget reforms in Wisconsin are one of modern conservatisms greatest success stories. So why would Donald Trump attack them? Because 1) he is not a Republican, and 2) he is not a conservative. Trump went after Walker yesterday:
Wisconsin is in turmoil, Trump told a boisterous crowd at a rally in Iowa. He pointed to the states roads, schools and hospitals, which he said were all a disaster.
This is the kind of smear the Democrats perpetrate against Walker, but why would any Republican join them? This, too, is straight out of the left-wing playbook:
A guy like Bush, a guy like Walker, are controlled by the people who give them money, Trump said. They will be bombarded by their lobbyists who donated a lot.
Notice that Trump says nothing about Hillary Clinton being beholden to Wall Street donors, the baby-parts lobby, and so on. Why would any Republican parrot the Democrats attacks on his fellow Republicans? I dont think any Republican would, but Trump admits he is no Republican. This was perhaps his most revealing comment:
The other guys running, the Republicans they protect each other, Trump said early in his speech. Me, I dont care.
So the other guys running are the Republicans. Not Trump. Hes no Republican, by his own acknowledgement. Nor is he a conservative.
Some believe that Trump is an agent of the Clintons, and his end game is a third party candidacy that will deliver the White House to Hillary, the candidate he has long supported. This may be plausible, given Trumps history (including, but not limited to, his eight years as a registered Democrat) and the manner in which he mimics Hillarys attacks on Republicans. I think it more likely that Trump is acting independently for his own ego gratification. But if he does run as a third-party candidate, his motives wont matter. To the extent that he fools voters into thinking that he is a conservative, he will increase the likelihood of another four years of the Obama-Clinton disaster.
Women will tip toe through family crisis. America has been longing for a man to stand up and take the bull by the horns. It is too bad it is Trump and maybe God will send us a better man to do the same.
NO, i’m saying to take the points individually, and test the validity of the points. Sure, understand where the writer is coming from, but don’t make that your obsession.
No one bats 100%, and conversely, no one bats 0. Hindraker is at least .500 here.
Meant to add, the celebrity that Trump is selling, and he is selling celebrity, is the celebrity that is earned in the world of business.
That’s why he can claim to be able to win the votes of some of the minority groups.
Everyone, majority or minority, would like to have even a little of the successes that Trump has earned.
Even his detractors.
Yeah, lots of want to win.
Micro-analyzing Trump’s past doesn’t change the fact that, already, he’s the one who has (1) already given mad as hell people a voice and (2) destroyed some pols who deserve it.
Also when they go after his bankruptcies , he more than likely will say “ I know what failure is, but also how to overcome it” I want to do the same thing for America. Contrast that with puffed up prosperity by the MSM and the average person , not the what’s in it for me crowd, will buy his leadership capability.
Time for Plan B or well lose, again.
Well stated
Maybe that’s not so bad. Today’s Republicans are 1960’s Democrats anyway.
Unfortunately,
Anyone supporting Trump is either a very low information voter or one of the suicide bombers I spoke of.
Honestly, Mr. Robinson should really think about banning all these supporters of Hillary’s Shill...
The guy you and I were talking about, behind his back, is four square opposed to Trump.
Trump is a showman.. A grand stander... A circus clown... Even worse.. This guys goal is to get either Hillary or a GOPE candidate elected (Uni-party).
They needed someone bombastic to suck the air out of the room and that is what trump is for...
support Cruz or walker (preferably Cruz)... Give this man NO positive attention. Take my word for this, anyone who says otherwise is NOT a supporter of limited government.
actually...
Funny as this is....
I was talking TOO him about folks like you. ;)
You mad bro?
I must have missed that part, and no, I’m not mad.
You can use any definition of mad you’d like, same answer.
Makes me chuckle.
