Don’t underestimate the likelihood of billionaire and reality TV personality Donald Trump winning the Republican nomination for president, a Minnesota member of Congress cautioned the nation Sunday, pointing to his own state putting a onetime feather boa-flaunting pro wrestler in charge.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., during an appearance on ABC-TV’s “This Week,” said voters “better be ready for the fact that [Trump] might be leading the Republican ticket.”

Challenged by host George Stephanopoulos that “I know you don’t believe” Trump can actually be the challenger to the Democratic nominee in November 2016, Ellison reminded viewers that Minnesota voted in Jesse Ventura as governor in 1998.

Funny, that I made this comparison a couple of weeks ago.

I find it strange that Ellison is thinking the same thing.

Something is brewing...

"Errrrrrr. Is it just me or is that weirder than Minnesotans voting for a Mussulman to be their Representative?"

I'm thinking that he sees a Trump nod as a shoo-in for the dems. I submit that's delusional.

There have been four (4) US Presidents elected in the past without any electoral experience. (As an odd coincidence, all four were Republicans.)

The upcoming Republican debates are going to be very interesting.

And electing a Moham-madman to the House.

This marks the first time Ellison and I agree on anything.
True, the Dems may be wishing for this because they think Trump will be easy to beat. Don’t be so sure about that.

Electing muslims is even stranger than electing wrestlers.

There were a few things Ventura did that wasn’t so bad. He submitted a budget to congress (I think it was GOP House, DFL Senate) and said “here’s my budget. I don’t really care if the state shuts down if you guys can’t come to agreement. I’m going fishing now.” Then he took off...no more negociating.

And electing a second-rate “comedian” to the Senate...twice.

Ellison thinks he’s screwing with ‘em, but he’s right.

This is the first intelligent comment that I’ve heard from him. But I still wonder when he’s going to change his name.
