Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) was rebuked by his Senate colleagues on Sunday as he tried to force a vote on defunding Planned Parenthood.
Lee had tried to attach an amendment eliminating all federal funds for Planned Parenthood to the vote on Congresss must-pass highway legislation.
The amendment was rejected by the chair of the Senate, who called it out of order because it was not germane to the highway bill.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) decided last week that he would only allow two amendments to the bill a repeal of ObamaCare and a reauthorization of the Export-Import bank while blocking all others in a procedure known as filling the tree.

I can’t see any reason to ever vote for Republicans again. They are implementing everything Hussein and their crony capitalist friends could ever want, faster than ‘rats would have done it. The SC forwards the left’s agenda. They better enjoy their time as the majority while it lasts, because they have lost thier base, and the left already has a party.
Is there another explanation?
GOPe:
Pro murder, pro rape
Pro body parts trafficing
Third party folks, we have NO representation.
Thank you Mike Lee.
Exactly. Great point.
That's not the question.
The question is : "Who is for and who is against Life.
I have two questions, to all of our “representatives” in Washington, but first and foremost to Republicans, who claim to be “pro-life”::
1. Why are you funding mass murder in the first place?
2. If you have the governmental power to defund them, why do you think you don’t have the power to stop their mass murder, and thereby keep your solemn oath to provide equal protection to every innocent person?
So it can be easily vetoed by President Dark Lord?
“The amendment was rejected by the chair of the Senate, who called it out of order because it was not germane ...”
When did it begin to matter that an amendment is germane or not? Never mind.
McConnell should go ahead and switch parties and stop lying for the short time he has left on Earth.
As its own bill, the Democrats would shut it down with a filibuster. It would never see the light of day.
As an amendment to the Highway Bill, the Democrat minority would probably let it pass so as to get the pork for their Districts.
Obama would then be confronted with a decision -- should he veto it to save Planned Parenthood...or should he sign it to save the pork.
Woul the Democrat minority vote to override his veto...???
Watch Trump go up again, they are fueling it.
Who will vote for them? These deceitful backstabbers. They have practically ensured that nobody will.
And this guy doesn’t have a house in Kentucky that he lives in that cant be picketed 24/7? How about his business connections? Those cant be boycotted. I’m sure this bastard must have business investments or his close family has them that can also be boycotted to the point where they will become bankrupt.
Why are the people of Kentucky just standing by and letting this jacka$$ be the person that is representing them?
Nice party we have here.
Boy, it's a good thing we elected Republicans again in 2014! They are doing a fantastic job! Effing bastards
They care about their portfolio and themselves and no one else. They are just as bad as democrats, maybe worse because at least liberals admit who they are, these guys lie and deceive republicans.
THIS IS WAR!!!! Democrats AND MOST Republicans in the Senate are EVIL BASTARDS!!!!
First, you do NOT make them "go on record" about PP because they will explain it away as a "highway bill" and, in large part, be right.
Second, the ISSUE of PP is completely hidden in the language of an unrelated bill.
A better strat---though it might not get far---is to simply introduce a bill. All funding bills start in the House, but I'm not sure if DEfunding bills do.
I want names!
