The first Republican debate takes place Aug. 6. The candidates are busy conducting mock debates, rehearsing ways to get their messages across, and studying their opponents for signs of weaknesses, preparing little zingers that will enable them to score points and distinguish them from the herd.
Silly candidates: They should be studying tapes of The Apprentice.
If they don’t, they may end up steamrolled by the chairman of Trump Organization. No one is going to be “fired” by Donald Trump on Aug. 6, but many will be singed — they will feel the flames of his forest-fire fury. “Do not try to match him in anger and aggressiveness,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich advised the GOP candidates in an interview with the Associated Press. “It’s not possible.”

I was hoping there was some secret ‘thing’ somewhere that would indicate spine or integrity but it was too much to hope for I suppose.

I think Trump’s predecessors, at least in terms of attack and appeal, are LaFolette and Long.
The Donald has the only thing more valuable than money, which of course he also has plenty of- entertainment value.
Cruz is often brilliant, Saunders is interesting in that it is genuine self admitted socialist running, and he is a pro- and actually more honest about his positions than three quarters of the lying B-stards, the Hildabeast is as predictable as a summer sci fi movie, the Jebster like a re run of a not particularly good episode of Saturday Night Live from 10 or 15 years ago....
But when the great unwashed masses see “Trump says .....” it equals eyeballs; even ‘oh God, what did that @#$@#@ day now” is good if it gets a click.... So he gets covered whilst Perry or Rubio is “who? They’re running?”
Jeb should be running for President of Mexico.

Ted Cruz is unflappable, solid as a rock. I think Jeb creates a giant yawn wave, ditto Marco. Some of the others will implode.
Cruz and Trump will run the table.
I hope that Terry Schievo’s name comes up several times.

I’d like to see Chris Christie get caught up in the debate carnage,but I don’t think he’ll make the cut.
