My point is that Trump -- even by his own admission -- has some odd personality traits that drive him to do some strange things. In addition to washing his hands dozens of times every day, he also refuses to touch elevator buttons (an odd habit for someone who builds skyscrapers for a living, LOL) and won't shake hands with people.
I heard him talk about shaking hands in an interview. He really doesn’t like to. That shows how committed he is to this campaign, he’s shaking hundreds of hands a day with no indication that it bothers him.
These days, unfortunately, none of that is strange. Your local WalMart offers disinfectant towelettes at the entrance for people who fear touching a non-disinfected shopping cart.
There's nothing "strange" about wanting the job done correctly. What you were describing was extremely high intelligence in the spatial relations ability, which is an area where men tend to score higher than women on standardized tests. It is found in architects, engineers, designers, etc.

In the days before antibiotics, refined people always used to wear gloves in public.
I also wash my hands at least a dozen times a day, use my forearm or shoulder to push open doors, use the back of my pen to push elevator buttons, and wear gloves (in the winter) when grabbing the subway "bar." And guess what - I haven't missed a day of work because of illness in at least fifteen years.
I wash my hands more than 20 times a day. Not compulsive. I get my hands dirty. I push elevator buttons with the end of a pen AND I do not touch anything in public restrooms. Since I implemented those policies I rarely get sick.
