John Russel Houser was both a supporter of the far-right Tea Party and the extremist Christian Westboro Baptist Church, web accounts connected to the 59-year-old Louisiana theater shooter reveal. Houser, who goes by the name Rusty, committed suicide Thursday night after opening fire in a screening of the movie Trainwreck at a Lafayette, Louisiana theater- killing two others and injuring nine. At a morning press conference, police did not reveal much about the gunman, other than that he was a 'drifter' who appears to have worked alone and had disguises in his motel room - indicating that he planned to escape.

Sounds like a set up profile. Just sayin’. I’m surprised the mods (at that site) didn’t ban him, flat out.
The Tea Party is not “far right”; it is Constitutional.
And I have heard a million times in the media that the Tea Party is gone, anyway.
No true Tea Partier endorses what this guy allegedly did, just as no true Christian embraces Westboro’s hateful behaviour.
To those who disagree with me when I say that we have lost the culture war, let me ask you this....
What does it say about our society that simply believing the basis of our country and its legal system, the founding document of the republic [the US Constitution] should be the law of the land makes one an *extremist*?
From the article: Houser also had a profile on the conservative website Tea Party Nation, in which he described himself as ‘very conservative’ and asked for help finding white-power groups.
Anybody can fill out a profile on any web site. I’ve done it myself on several lib sites just to see what they’re up to. That doesn’t make me a member.
Was the shooter active in a local Tea Party group? If so, for how long? That’s what I want to know.
Gee thats just terrible. OMG he might be affiliated with a Conservative group, horrors!
Yeah....just like DannyH was *conservative*. Bet this guy took a test at work, that he scored high as a conservative on. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Tea Party members are to my knowledge, never found supportive of Westboro Baptist nazis.
The media will not be heard making this distinction.
More Westboro types of anti-Americans are found comfortably residing in the White House.
And he said that he hated America and our financial system, Yep sounds like a right winger/sarc
There you go. Good catch.
He looks like Sheppard Smith’s dad to me. They need to check that connection.
It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and already they know he had some traffic violations in Alabama dating back to 1981!
Westboro and searching for white power groups? That has nothing to do with the beliefs I hold to be a conservative.
John Russel Houser was both a supporter of the far-right Tea Party-—billshit maher will have a little hard on over this.
Now they can say this is why we audited them.
Right.
The press loves to lie about every shooter when a story is new.
Then they print a retraction in 4 point font on the last page of page 103 in the Sunday paper:
“Ooops, sorry. The shooter was a Fellow Traveler in the Communist Party, a card carrying Democrat, believed in man-made global warming, and had a statue of Karl Marx that he bowed down and worshiped every night.
We at United World Workers News are deeply saddened that one of our own kind would fall under the influence of a gun. Guns must be banned.”
bkmk
Agreed, but nowadays, it’s possible to call oneself a Christian while supporting Planned Parenthood butchery and homosexual marriage. We first need to sort out the language to properly expose the evil ones.
I dont think it is possible to be both a Tea Party member and a Westboro Baptist Church member.
Also he liked Adolf Hitler, so he was an extreme fascist/socialist.
Did I get that right?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the T.E.A. “party” began with people from all backgrounds and political affiliations, did it not?
It is not exclusive to conservatives...
DBM appears to have successfully smeared any and all conservatives with the “TEA Party” moniker in an attempt to discredit us.
Prayers for the victims and their families.
Yup...you got that right.
