The Americans unhappy about all this do not count. They will have to be rounded up and shot. (Or at least narcotized on trashy TV . . . )

Geez Brent, where the hell have you been? Need to get out of that DC bubble and see the damage liberalism has done on the country.

As a liberal hero once proclaimed on a convention stage, “the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.

Ted Kennedy said this at the 1980 Democrat convention.

Liberals dreams are never fulfilled. They just move the goal posts.

With homosexual marriage, for example, the goal posts have simply moved. Rather than feeling their lives are complete for having achieved so called “marriage equality”, now there are rumblings that we need to sue churches and religious institutions which don’t recognize homosexual marriage. Even before the Supreme Court ruling, we have seen lawsuits against wedding vendors which didn’t service homosexual weddings.

The liberals are never happy. Having achieved any goals of their’s simply moves the goal posts as they move on to some other alleged “inequality”.

Anyone else notice we’re hearing lots more recently about the “T” or transgendered, of the “LGBT” peoples??? They have decided that the social/political climate has changed enough for them to push more and more depraved behaviors and ideas upon us.

Is Social Liberalism Winning?

No. It is just the current fad of the prosperous and the sick who have managed to gain control of the propaganda apparatus and spread their warped understanding through the current populace.

But this is just a temporary thing, because idiocy is self correcting over the long run. All these currently dominant ideas will cause their adherents to come to a bad end, and nature will eventually reestablish sanity through the survivors.

We see this happening in Europe where they have committed suicide by inviting Muslims to live with them. That will likely end up in a clash of blood at some point.

The Left's victories are "advancing the ball down the field".

The Right's victories are "not losing any yardage" ... which is devolving rapidly into "not losing too much yardage (at one time)".

Social liberalism is winning, and will continue to win, because we have a socialized and centrally-controlled monetary system.

People don’t see the connection, but money is the prose of society, and if we had a real currency and actual free-market interest rates, the US Government could NO WAY be $18 Trillion in debt. This control also used to steal middle class wages and savings through the tax of inflation and financial repression. The fact that that purchasing power of a dollar has decreased something like 98% since the creation of the Federal Reserve 100 years ago says it all. it accelerated in the 1960s with LBJ and went ballistic when Nixon finally found it necessary to sever any link to gold. To whom did that buying power go?

With that kind of power and funding, progressive government can then be everything to everybody and insinuate itself into every part of civil society. That money was spent on 1000 social engineering projects - from $500 million per year for planned parenthood, to an army of ACORN vote farmers, to HUD to Obamacare. Government, for now anyway, can use fake money to bail itself out, maintain the present system, and keep Americans from experiencing any disastrous consequences of the problems it has caused, as we saw in 2008. We can live consequence free with our big government, for now anyway.

Conservatives can’t win against that and few conservative politicians can resist it. Centralized Government, controlled by Progressives who believe in its mission, will continue to win, and conservatives will continue to be surprised and shocked.

Ben Franklin said: “When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.” And that’s exactly what is happening.

This is just BS to split conservatism into Balkan camps.

conservative is conservative. Social issues cost money. Money costs social issues. they can not be separated except in the eyes of delusional DC pundits, campaign managers, and fetish practicing obsessed politicians.

It isn’t that social liberalism is winning. The real problem imo is that parents have not been making sure that their children are being taught the Constitution in the first place, particularly the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers. All three branches of the corrupt federal government are consequently getting away with unconstitutonal interpretations of the Constitution.

the more they destroy the economy, the more dependent on big govt the people become.

they’ve also been pounding the drive out of boys since 1994. boys that otherwise would have grown to be the next generation of business owners.

by dumbing down the kids, they’re insuring a need for govt assistance.... furthering their goal (progress!) to achieve a communist ‘utopia’

Unease with the state of social issues in the country surely means other issues as well, including [...] legalizing marijuana in several states

Since those legalizations have been done via referenda, I'm far less "sure" about this than the author. And why is this a "social issue" anyway? Selling is zoned and regulated, and I haven't heard that any significant amount of using is public - so who's being imposed upon?
