Rachel Dolezal, the local NAACP president who resigned after it was revealed that she is white and not black, is now braiding hair to make ends meet after also losing a part-time university teaching job.
Dolezal told Vanity Fair magazine that her last check from Eastern Washington University in June and she now sees several clients a week for braids and weaves to support herself and her 13-year-old son.
Dolezal, 37, told the magazine she still identifies as a black woman - despite the fallout that drew national attention when her estranged parents outed her as Caucasian - and that it’s taken a lifetime to “negotiate” that identity.

A more honest job than the one she had.
She committed the unforgivable sin: being white. Murder can be forgiven; being white can’t.

It’s pathetic that without a job at a college, her only skill is to braid hair.
Well, she’s got some experience faking hate crimes too, but now that she’s out of the NAACP, there is no money in that.
Isn’t that what her job was before she was employed by the college ?

In some states, a hair braider must be licensed. Wouldn’t it be great if she was engaged in an illegal business?
Hair braiding in Washington State requires a cosmetology license.
