One idea that came up was to urge three leading candidates Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor; Mr. Walker; and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida to band together and state that they would not participate in any debate in which Mr. Trump was present, using his refusal to rule out a third-party bid as a pretext for taking such a hard line.
The thinking, according to a Republican involved in the conversations, was that the lesser-funded prospects who have been eclipsed by Mr. Trump would follow suit, and the TV networks airing the debates would be forced to bar Mr. Trump in order to have a full complement of candidates.

You got it!!...Now hopefully....Trump is just the proverbial Canary in the coal mine or the bulldozer that cleans out the trash....
I would gladly join you but just who do we got? Walker? Can he even move Wisconsin into the win column? Cruz? What state can he deliver above and beyond Romney or McCain? To squeak by they need FL and OH for sure and some flips like PA, MI, NC, CO, VA. There may have been a time when a resume' conservative made the difference in such states but I can't imagine how today. I wrote this in another thread:
If Trump can actually nail down the nomination the stupid (R)epublicrats better realize the catbird seat they occupy. Trump self-financing the main ticket is an extremely rare and positive development because it would entirely free up the party resources ( $200 million maybe ) to swamp the (D)ummies in Congressional and local elections. If they have any brains and coordinate properly they could create a landslide and mandate resembling 1972 and 1984. In both those years the electorate had their pitchforks out as well, to ensure a McGovern or a Mondale doesn't bring radicalism to main street.Trump needs to seriously figure out how to pick off New York or California. Both would be the landslide scenario but either one locks it up. And this is easily do-able by going after blue-collar and union members. They used to run 52-48 but have moved to 60-40 or more in recent years depending on economics and other circumstances so a swing of 10% minimum puts it squarely in play. A *real* campaign in either or both states would traumatize the (D)ummies and deplete their resources everywhere else. He is financially able to compete in these states whereas the recent Rhino efforts were to leave them alone resulting in 60-40 ratios. That said, MI, PA, CT, OH, and more are definitely do-able and would devastate the (D)efensive bankroll.
With the help of the stupid party legalizing the illegal aliens soon THERE WILL BE NO MORE PATH TO ELECTORAL VICTORY. Who's going to stop that? Cruz? Walker? How? This window is closing now. I really doubt our dream candidate can make a difference.
217 years ago we were in a similarly dangerous crisis. Our two most important Founders came to the rescue and ( at least temporarily ) saved the country, but they had to employ extraordinary measures. See here. I bring this up because I do not see anyone down there in the District of Criminals, including "war heroes" like McCain, willing to risk anything for the country and the constitution they swore to defend. They are all wussies save for a select few.
Anyway, please tell me I'm wrong and sketch out a 270+ electoral scenario convincing me to vote for one of the 15 dwarfs.
But more importantly, if one of them can thread this needle and get 280 or 300, then what? Where's the leverage over those putrid Congress-scum? I ask this because any of the 15 will beholden to the (R)at party that financed their narrow victory at great cost. The cash will almost all be spent on the main ticket and they might just lose Congress again in the process. Deadlock. Or more likely capitulation where we win the White House and the Congress takes over! That would be the perfect conclusion, for the (D)ummies.
It's possible he could win as the Republican nominee, but Hillary would really have to run a bad campaign, make huge gaffes and offend the left left wing. Trump would have to run a perfect campaign and control his out of control temperament. So, it's possible.
But if Trump ran as a third party, Hillary would win an easy electoral vote victory.
hey!...its a very exclusive Club!...you must have the ability to snooker a majority of voters that u are representing “We the People” instead of the secret mission of...”We the Club”
Hey much of Fox is dismissing Trump, certainly Bret Baer Special Report entire panel is mocking him as bad as CNN.
Hannity is great, I dont watch every program on Fox
Brit Hume trashed Trump, I read that Murdoch is not big on Trump
I could see them trying to ban Trump
It does sell. But will it buy 270+ electoral votes?
I'm not trying to be negative, but I am being realistic. Please sketch out a 270+ scenario. Everyone should be thinking about this.
I guarantee the enemy is.
yeah....and Caitlyn Jenner should win a gold medal in the next Olympics too
...I don't know if this is right...but i can guarantee you ill have those N!@@#rs voting Democrat for the next 50 yrs...
So many of your are SO NEAR SIGHTED ... you think because we cheer Trumps actions to upset the strangle hold the GOP/RNC / U.S. Chamber of Commerce has on the Republican Primaries — that we who cheer Trump approve of everything he stands for.
Take notice - Ted Cruz was/still is on the verge of not being included in the Primary Debates because of that GOP/RNC/ Chamber of Commerce Stanglehold... Trump has totally put them off balance and has stolen the show and is putting Jeb Bush in a hole.
Trump has had a Private Meeting with Ted Cruz in the past week or so. Not that this means anything - but Cruz is also defending Trump.
I do not think that there is anything much to this meeting — but ONE BIG thing ... Because Trump has FORCED the discussion of all topics OPEN... Now Cruz and others are allowed to freely talk about them without being HAMMERED by the Elitists at the GOP/RNC / et al..
Bottom line - Trump has forced open the Primaries to ALL candidates - who can now talk openly about their positions on subjects such as Illegal Immigration, Sanctuary Cities, etc. No longer can the monopoly of the GOP - so called ‘leadership’ shut down the issues to be discussed. Trump will continue to Force open the array of REAL ISSUES — not just the Uniparty phony issues.
It is a long way to the Primaries and Trump may lose voter support or it will just dwindle. But right now - without Trump Jeb Bush would be FORCED to the top of the heap by GOP money and pressure ... candidates like Cruz would be forced to the bottom.
Without Trump the GOP/RNC / U.S. Chamber of Commerce would have the Primary Elections wrapped up for Jeb Bush by November - December ... Doing their usual hard core actions of shutting down everyone ...
PLEASE recall how the GOP push for Romney — set fires against all Conservative candidates... Every harsh action in the books was taken against real Conservatives — they were slandered - scorched earth policies were taken against Conservatives to push then one by one out of the race.
With Trump - who is a near Teflon man because he does not at this time need financial support from others will keep the GOP Mafia at bay all the way to and through the primaries
Hate Trump if you will - but without him — 2016 Primaries would be a REPLAY of 2012 — nobody but Romney -— Nobody but Jeb Bush in 2016 ... Those of us who support real Conservative Candidates like Cruz would be told to EAT SHIT AND DIE... Trump is the fighter planes taking all the Flak for the other candidates and will eventually allow them to have a say — and we voters too.
As for Jeb¿, he is dropping off the radar.
Good riddance Jeb¿
Check and see if Anderson Cooper is behind him in the “back-up role” if he faints.....
Tell me about it! They have something up their sleeve for damn sure.
God help us!!!!
I like what Trump says and how he handles himself. I want the lawless violent borders secured. Like Trump say, we’ll worry about what you’re professional politicians dump on us for the past 30+ years after the borders are secure.
You evaded my question. You’re turn.
Good post and insightful.
> “ Trump is the fighter planes taking all the Flak for the other candidates and will eventually allow them to have a say”
Except for Perry in glasses and Lovely Lindsey. Those two are on Trump’s black list.
What about 2008? John McCain?
Why do you continue to evade my question.
What about 2008? John McCain?
Why do you continue to evade my question?
Translation: We’re scared of Ted Cruz.
