Rick Santorum: I've met people who are no longer gay

Rick Santorum and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow clashed over gay rights issues on her show Wednesday night, and the Republican presidential candidate offered an apology of sorts for a remark he made a dozen years ago.

If people are born gay or transgender, Santorum posited, “it leads to a whole bunch of other situations,” like sex-selective abortions, for example.

“So if you can determine whether one of your children is gay, should we pass a law saying you can’t abort a child because you found out that child’s going to be gay? You can’t abort a child because you found out that child was going to be a woman? How would you feel about a law like that?” he asked Maddow.

Asked whether believed being gay is a choice, Santorum said he has never answered the question because he does not really know the answer.

“There are people who are alive today who identified themselves as gay and lesbian and who no longer are. That’s true. I do know, I’ve met people in that case. So I guess maybe in that case, maybe they did,” he said, adding that he does “know people who have lived the gay lifestyle and no longer live it.”

“But I suspect that there’s all sorts of reasons that people end up the way they are. And I’ll sort of leave it at that,” he said.

Romans 1 is a very revealing and interesting chapter that explains the issue very well. We don’t have to wonder ‘why some people are gay’…. It is all explained right here.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The bottom line? Once one has rejected God, He will at a point in time of His choosing, let have Satan have his way with the individual…. and that means he/she will very quickly develop a ‘reprobate mind’ …. and all that that entails. There is no such thing as a 'gay gene' or being 'born that way'....God lets sin take over in an individual's life once they have submitted to Satan and are past the point of no return (and yes, God does say that there is a point which will be reached that is of no return for individuals who reject him. Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh.....)

With all due respect to Rick I think he has met a bi-sexual.

Years ago as a new believer, I had many acquaintances in the workplace who were homosexuals and went to a Metropolitan Church.

I never understood how they could be "Christian" and gay without renouncing their lifestyle. When I asked of one of the most religious gay men, he exclaimed God never mentioned anything about homosexuals. When I looked through their "bible", I saw that Romans, Acts and a few other books were missing. When I showed him my Bible, starting with Romans, he was astonished then tried to claim I had an "archaic" version of scripture, but he was clearly disturbed.

These people are deceived and every one of them I became acquainted with had been molested by a male friend, friend of the family or a family member they trusted. Some were as young as 2yrs old which explains why some might believe they were "born that way". Most who were really honest, admitted it was a choice of lifestyle.

Really! They had ripped the books right out of the Bible, eh? You know, that is a very bad dangerous thing to do. God talks about what happens to someone who does that.....

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

And there’s apparently a whole organization dedicated to former homosexuals: http://www.pfox.org/ex-gays/

Obama and the left denies they exist, of course. Because if there’s even one former homosexual, their narrative that homosexuality is just as innate and immutable as race falls apart.

There’s no such thing as a former black. But there’s apparently thousands of former homosexuals. And if their’s is a choice, as it most certainly is, then we need to discuss whether that very expensive choice (in terms of medical costs and medical research) is worth it to society.

Yes. Really. They didn't "rip" the pages out but the church they attended had the bibles printed in that manner and passed them out to visitors.

I am aware of the curses of Rev. 22 for removing scripture, revealing it to the people I was able to.

One footnote here is that I believe the gay agenda is being driven by minute majority of radical reprobates. I would say the ones I had been acquainted with were disgusted by the radical agenda. Many of them are/have been deeply wounded and are looking for love/acceptance. I pray for those.

Yes, I didn’t mean literally... I understood what you were saying was they had them printed up that way. One would have thought that at that point, it would have been easier to just come up with some reason why the whole book has to be rejected.

IMO is many homosexuals were raised in Christian homes (not necessarily in church) and had not read the bible themselves which is why they're surprised by having the missing books pointed out to them. Even so...they try to fill that void in their hearts but want to define God in their own acceptable terms....which is why their Metro church is so popular. It's sad, but they are truly deceived on so many levels.
