Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are history in Connecticut.
Under pressure from the NAACP, the state Democratic Party will scrub the names of the two presidents from its annual fundraising dinner because of their ties to slavery.
Party leaders voted unanimously Wednesday night in Hartford to rename the Jefferson Jackson Bailey dinner in the aftermath of last month’s fatal shooting of nine worshipers at the historic black church in Charleston, S.C.
The decision is believed to be unprecedented and could prompt Democrats in other states with similarly-named events to follow suit.
“I see it as the right thing to do,” Nick Balletto, the party’s first-year chairman, told Hearst Connecticut Media Wednesday night. “I wasn’t looking to be a trailblazer or set off a trend that’s going to affect the rest of the country. Hopefully, they’ll follow suit when they see it’s the right thing to do.”

This is so ridiculous.
These were the starters of our country. Yes, slavery may have been *normal* back then, but that’s just the way it was. It does not take anything away from what the Founding Fathers along with the rest of the revolutionaries fought and died for. The citizens of the United States overcame slavery and realized that the Constitution pertains to all of us.
They are attempting to rewrite history here and they are just dumb enough to believe that they are doing it “because of slavery” because that’s what they’ve been told. This is just the beginning of what they will take from our heritage. It’s going to get worse, I’m sure.

Geesh, and we just got back from visiting there yesterday (reliving my short time there 20 years ago).
This is getting totally out of control.
But I do like the irony.
Drip...drip...drip...the sound of the blood of Americans’ freedom and liberty spilling out on the floor as we (as a people) simply sit and watch it happening while waiting for someone else to do anything about it.
Obama does not recognize our system of government. Congress won’t attempt to do its job and the Supreme Court makes up their own laws.
If the next election for President results in the placement of a puppet, Marxist or politically correct imbecile, we are toast and there is only one other solution to the problem and that is revolution if we want to restore our original Constitutional rights.
However, with that in mind I sincerely believe that only the older generation will agree with my thoughts because the newer generation has been thoroughly brainwashed by our public schools, Colleges, Entertainment and by public pressure to become politically correct that they will not be the ones to join a revolt.
The problem is that they never had the opportunity to live in a free society (before 1964) where individual responsibility ruled the day and cannot fully understand it since they never lived it and don’t miss it. Consequently, the revolt will never take place.
I never thought I would live long enough to see the once great America cower to individual radical islam or simply abandon our borders so that hordes of savages could spill into our country to violate our laws and culture while living off of our government in sanctuary cities.
That’s exactly what this is really about. Progressives want to erase and edit history so that nobodies feelings get hurt.
It’s the Tyranny of the Butt Hurt.
And the stupidity continues from the Commurats. I love the state of Connecticut, but hate their politics.

The NAACP is really feeling their oats. They have 1 year left to grab as much power as possible. They are so close to completely controlling free speech now they need raw power. Pure political power with no opposition. The interesteing thing will be to see how they handle the challenge from the illegals. Who is more ‘oppressed’ and worthy of gibs?
