The John Doe investigation of Wisconsin conservatives collapsed last week with a powerful decision from the Wisconsin Supreme Court that called state prosecutors theory of campaign-finance law unconstitutional and unsupported in either reason or law. But the legal exoneration shouldnt pass without noting the hardship the secret probe imposed on its targets and on political debate in Wisconsin.
For the past few days, Ive been talking to the targets of the task force of Milwaukee Democratic prosecutors, the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board and Special Prosecutor Francis Schmitz. Their experiences, on the record here for the first time, reveal the nasty political sweep of an investigation that invaded privacy with surveillance of email accounts, raided homes with armed law enforcement, and swarmed individuals with subpoenas demanding tens of thousands of documents while insisting on secrecy.
One target did speak up in public in real time Eric OKeefe, who went on the record in limited ways with me not long after he was subpoenaed in October 2013 as part of the prosecutors investigation of conservative speech during the Wisconsin recall elections. The director of the Wisconsin Club for Growth knew that violating the gag order put him at personal risk, but he told me then that he had to fight because it was an assault on basic constitutional freedoms and we have done nothing illegal.

Story is behind a paywall.
If the national Republicans had any sense, they’d be trumpeting this story. This is a dangerous, dangerous thing, and Chisolm, the prosecutor, should be wearing an orange jumpsuit.
We can’t put more than the allowed excerpt.
Wall Street Journal interviews targets of the infamous John Doe investigation. This is a BIG story.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
So glad for once reason won out.
Which reminds me!
Hey FREEPERS .. Scott Walker is running for President as well..
Word has it he hasn’t put any money towards the Clinton Foundation, nor Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Campaign!
Amen. John Chisholm and all his partners in crime should be stripped of their positions, their possessions, and sit for a long time behind bars.
This article is one of many first steps in the process. Look for many more to come and a slew of lawsuits against this lawless prosecution. If this had happened with a republican prosecutor, the outcome would already be a fait accompli. As it is not, we will wait and it will not be good for Chisholm and his nefarious employees and allies.
The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, a rats' nest of activist libs, is also neck-deep in the mix. Kevin Kennedy, the head of GAB has a professional relationship and is a friend of.....guess who?
None other than Lois Lerner.
Fun fact #2: The GAB considered using the states John Doe law to investigate key state conservatives and even national figures, including Fox News Sean Hannity and WTMJ Milwaukee host Charlie Sykes.

I was just re-reading the whole sorted mess with the Duke LaCrosse men and Mike Nifong. I just hope that there is enough money and fortitude in Wisconsin to do to Chisholm and his cohorts what has been done to Nifong. Between being disbarred and being sued, he’s been totally destroyed. Payback has indeed been a real bitch for him. Let’s hope the same course of events occurs for Chisholm, because what he did was an order of magnitude worse than what Nifong tried to do to these young men. Take away all of his assets and put him in jail for a very long time.
Hopefully, someone will write a well-documented book. And then someone will do the movie.
Word has it [Scott Walker] hasnt put any money towards the Clinton Foundation, nor Hillary Clintons 2008 Campaign!
BUMP!
“I just hope that there is enough money and fortitude in Wisconsin to do to Chisholm and his cohorts what has been done to Nifong.”
I’m thinking there might be. If we can get those EVIL Koch Brothers to fund this, then all will be well. They’re our ‘George Soros,’ don’t ‘cha know!
;)
