According to reporting from The New York Times, some of the Marines killed in the Chattanooga shooting were killed trying to draw the gunmans fire away from another, larger group of innocent bystanders.
Some of the Marines who were shot to death last week in Chattanooga, Tenn., effectively sacrificed themselves to save the lives of others, diverting the gunman away from a larger group of potential victims, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation into the killings, reports New York Times reporters Richard Pérez-Peña and Matt Apuzzo.
This could have been a lot worse, they quote the anonymous official as saying. It could have been a horrible, horrible massacre so much worse. Officials are expected to give a fuller account of the shooting, perpetrated by Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, in a Wednesday press conference.
And the President waited five days to ordering the flags to half staff. There are heroes and then there are those in power that do everything they can to undermine those heroes!
Nope, not buying it.
This is reported only to support the narrative that the “lone gunman” was “depressed” and allegedly didn’t care who he killed.
I didn’t think of that. Thanks.
Well, that’s what our boys do, don’t they?
I agree with your comment. It makes no sense the POS fired at one military office and then drove a few miles away to shoot at people near to another military office.
And is there anyone at all surprised that the Marines would do that?
And only took a few hours to rig the rainbow lights at the White House. It's pretty clear where his priorities are.
Too bad one of them wasn’t a well known flaming gay. Obama would have given him a very moving eulogy and would have invited his family and boyfriend to the White House.
Whatever. You doubt those Marines did everything they could to mitigate whoever he was after? Back it up and prove they weren’t killed doing actions to help protect the innocent as they saw it.
Protect?????
It’s what Marines do!
If they had time to do that, they could have easily taken down the jihadist - if permitted arms.
Prayers for their brave souls and for their families.
Sounds like Marines.
Semper Fi, and God Bless, from a lowly civilian.

Nope, I’ve had unpleasant conversations with you before.
I’ve never disparaged our troops or their motivation. This article and your response are too scripted.
Sell your horseclinton elsewhere.
There's several "memes" at work here:
- He was a homegrown terrorist
- He was a loner (but he was reinforced by trips to Jordan and Qatar, and he was at a nearby mosque, and it was end of Ramadan)
- He was a "bad Muslim", not representative of the Muslim faith (because he was depressed, drank, did drugs, and besides Islam is a religion of peace)
I think these themes/memes come from the top--from the administration--to its pet media mouthpieces-- and get copied by the twittering parrots from there. I noted in other posts that even FOX was running as "new information" the problems this troubled lad was having. That struck me not as news, but as disinformation, as I was hearing it.

Yes, and there are parroting twits HERE.
Srom the halls of Montezuma..........
Semper Fi patriots!!
The thing about parrots is that they don't know any better, or maybe they are trolls, to mix my metaphors. I think at the higher reaches of the media, they are taking orders more than just copying because that's what's in the air.
He's a communist, a moslem, and a fag.
So yeah ... priorities, and all ...
