(CNN)Anger over Sandra Bland's death in a Texas jail has boiled over after newly released video showed what happened at the traffic stop that led to her arrest.

Now, many question whether she should have been arrested at all.

The dashcam video shows Texas state Trooper Brian Encinia pulling Bland over July 10 for allegedly failing to use her turn signal. What started as normal conversation gets testy after Encinia asks her to put out her cigarette.

What I’m saying is that she may have killed herself regardless of whether she ended up in jail. The traffic stop didn’t kill her and she didn’t die on the traffic stop. She died 3 days later by her own hand.

The family was planning to bail her out, but she died prior to them being able to do it. I wasn’t called out for any misinformation with my post, but only for the wording. I still think everyone understand the point.

I’m not getting wound up. I’m just trying to correct all of the people on here that clearly have no clue about TX law or law enforcement. I’m actually having fun because I’ve never seen so many stupid people before. And we wonder why our country is going down the tubes.

So tell me why are you so wound up? Are you black by any chance?

I’m just tired of people lying or misquoting the law. You can claim the cop broke the law, but your claim doesn’t make it so. Too many people here are uneducated about TX law. The cop did not break our laws. This belligerent lady broke our laws and thought she would get away with it because of her color. It is just surprising how many stupid people will support a career criminal, like this lade, on a site that is supposed to be conservative.

When you stop them for minor traffic violations, people get irritated. Then, when you start on a arrogant power trip, people get angry. If the police want the support of their city, they need to tone down the attitude, and quit stopping people for minor infractions. A little detective work goes a long way in catching criminals. You don’t need to harrass the rest of the public while catching a few via minor traffic violations.

The stop is just a pretext. I've been stopped 3x for minor infractions. Did not receive a ticket. Mostly, they're looking for major offenders. Given that that per capita crime rates (aside from homicides) are several times what they were in the 60's, and only held this low by incarcerating 900 offenders per 100K people vs 200 per 100K people in the 60's, I support law enforcement efforts to get law-breakers off the streets.

Obviously ignored the deaths caused by tazers. Facts, stubborn things. Apparently acceptable to some, again, others nope. Use of a tazer that can possibly kill someone, one who is not combative is unlawful, inhumane, and violates one’s rights. There’s not going to be time to “hope for the best” settle that in some court room. Safety is paramount. At least ya learned a bit about the modern black talon round that never went away though.

Basic point is that traffic stops are a good (and sometimes the only) way to catch wanted criminals because perps don’t make themselves easy to find.

Again, your opinions are interesting, but fortunately the laws disagrees with you.

Yes, people can die from tasers (p.s. tazer is actually a brand), but people can also die from pepper spray and being hit with a purse. However, it is rare. Taser related deaths have only occurred due to other physical ailments/complications. Please do a little research on this. Also, he could have grabbed her and forced her out, but that would have likely led to more injuries on her than tasing her.

Failing to follow a lawful order is a violation of TX law. Using a taser is authorized by TX law in a situation of passive aggressiveness. It is not a violation of any rights. SCOTUS has already ruled on it.

BTW...your persistent implied threats about shooting a cop only prove you to be a coward. I say “bring it on”!!

FYI...tasers are considered “less lethal” or “less than lethal” devices because they can, in rare circumstances result in death. They have never been considered “not lethal”. However, they are also not considered “lethal force” within the use of force continuum. He appropriately used the taser, within the law and within use of force guidelines.

Also, to add to your point. Traffic stops make the roads safer for the rest of us.

Most DWI/DUI violators are caught for failing to turn on their headlights, failing to use turn signals, or failing to follow the speed limit. All minor traffic enforcement issues. Few are caught because they run off the road or crash. None are ever caught because they have a neon sign attached to their car that says “DRUNK”.

Did anybody mention why she ended up in jail for 3 days over all this? That is a bigger question in my mind than the details of the arrest.

I don’t think that has been released yet, but most likely she went for arraignment and the judge set the bail. The assault on a public servant is a major offense so she wouldn’t have been released without bail. Unfortunately, nobody came to bail her out yet. I’m just guessing, but this is common procedure in TX jails.

Yeah well aware of the “less than lethal” jargon, I’m sure the hundreds dead unexpectedly, comforts them and families. Haha. Again, it’s unacceptable. Guidelines, policies go null and void on the street, in a deprivation of rights incident, when no initiated combative action is involved and officer safety not threatened — Watch where you point :)

Because she allegedly assaulted the police officer, which is what she was charged with, and then no one came to bail her out.

Like I said, it isn’t a deprivation of rights to use a taser for a passive aggressive person. You can think all you want that it violates your rights, but the law does not agree with you and you thinking it doesn’t make it true. You are just poorly informed or uneducated apparently. If you don’t like the law then work to change it.

Again, any coward that will makes threats online isn’t somebody that worries me.

Nothing to do with me, but feel free to tell the gang as performing locker room duties your worries. Tazers kill, pointing a device at a non-combative person to make them move like cattle prod is acceptable to some, others not so much :) Safety first.

Again, research it. Pepper spray has resulted in people having heart attacks, the same as a taser.

You clearly are an idiot because there are no such laws that allow you to attack a LEO for any reason. Using a taser is not deprivation of rights. You are clearly simple minded or uneducated.

Go back to your basement with your tinfoil hat.

I am dark skinned, part black.
The reason why I am wound up is because of issues I had with the police. The first issue was when I saw a police officer verbally abuse my 82 year old mother in law who is white. The second was when it was my birthday, and I had a lot to drink. My husband was designated driver, and had one beer. It was midnight, driving home . My husband was going 10 mph over the speed limit. We deserved a ticket. However, when the cop pulled us over he was training a new recruit, so he wanted to show his toughness. He smelled alcohol, and almost had an orgasm. He then shouted at my husband to step out of the car, did a breathlyzer and roadside test.My husband passed, which pissed him off more. Shouting like a drill sargeant at my husband. It was terrifying, the cop was escalating and I thought he was going to hit my husband. I opened the car door, and the recruit came running, hand on holster. I could tell even the recruit thought the behavior excessive, because he told me- “ma’am, please get back in the car”very nicely. When the cop did not get his DUI bust like he so wanted, he then flashed his light into our car looking for an open liquor container. When he did not find it, he let us go without a ticket. For 15 min my husband was verbally abused during this traffic stop. He was so so stupid that he never came to the realization that I was the drinker.
We were shaking when we drove away. There was no reason for the behavior. He did not act professional, and we were no threat to him . He wanted to show off in front of the recruit, and was mad that he did not get his bust. I think the reason why we did not get a ticket was because we would get his name, and describe his behavior in court.
We are politically connected. A politician friend called the head of State Patrol who agreed that the behavior was uncalled for. My husband declined to file a formal complaint because he has a very nice sportscar, and that would make him a moving target to the State Patrol.
I was in Seattle. some black kidswere causing trouble, harrassing the tourists. I saw a couple of bike cops, and ran to them for assistance. They ignored my complaint, and rode away in the opposite direction. I had no cell phone on me at the time, so I could not call 911
I have also seen cops yell at the public for no apparent reason. One time, this really sticks into my head- I saw a cop yell at a person who was helping someone who fell and hurt themselves. The cop was not going to assist, but damn if he was going to let anyone else assist.I also have friends who were mistreated.

This is a conservative site. Conservatism does not mean that we have to accept poor police behavior. That is a form of facism. If you think your dear state of Texas loves the police, and trusts police authority- why did they protest Jade Helm, and why did your governor have the National Guard observe them?
Conservatism means freedom, not facism.
