Schmidt is a top strategist in felicitating the election of Barack Obama - by running an inept campaign with stolen war hero status candidate.
Why else is he on MSNBC?

Guys like Steve Schmidt are the reason there is a Donald Trump today. Excellent point! Trump's popularity is the backlash to Schmidt's GOP based liberalism.

Nonsense. The reason for Trump’s success is a Republican Congress that promised multiple popular conservative programs to achieve power and then backed off and rejected every single one of them as soon as they were voted in. They backstabbed their constituency in favor elite establishment money and perks. Trump is the predictable revolt against that. Trump is pretty much taking the same positions Republicans did leading up to the 2014 midterms. I think people believe there is no way they will every get the entrenched political class to deliver on these things so maybe an outsider like Trump, who doesn’t need the support of the corporate moneymasters, will actually come through and deliver. Trump and his support resembles a populist third party candidate much more than a Republican.

It is definitely reaping what it sowed. Trumps the result of passive do nothing feckless country club republicanism of people like John McCain, who is a complete backstabber.

Steve Schmidt?Didn't Mitt Romney also hire this putz? He seems to be a top strategist on losing elections, a GOPe plant or a Democrat. Maybe all of the above.
