First the Wall Street Journal editorial board called on conservative media to buck up and ditch Donald Trump.
Then late Monday, Iowa's largest newspaper, The Des Moines Register called on Trump to just drop out of the race.
-snip-
Trump didn't take the Register's editorial lightly. On Tuesday, he released a lengthy statement calling the editorial "sophomoric" and pointing out that a recent poll had him leading the GOP field.
"As one of the most liberal newspapers in the United States, the poll results were just too much for them to bear. The Des Moines Register has lost much circulation, advertising, and power over the last number of years. They will do anything for a headline, and this poorly written "non-endorsement" got them some desperately needed ink," Trump wrote, adding that the paper hasn't been covering him fairly. "They would rarely write the facts or report what really took place. They never captured the energy of each event and it is a constant battle with them by my representatives to get an accurate count of the large crowds I draw."

“...no one who truly respects
those who have served in the military
will vote for this guy...”

I call bullshit on that.
I happen to know of some combat vets and disabled vets who are very excited about the chance of voting for Trump.
WHY WOULD WE ELECT PRESIDENT A GUY WHO...?

Nobody has to vote for him. Even the folks who appear to support him on this forum (and obviously I cannot speak for them) I would reckon do not expect him to last through Nov ‘16. But in the meantime, he is cutting a bloody swath through lots of things that need to be trashed. And I think that’s just great. Even if I was strictly an entertainment junkie and did not give a crap about the future of the nation or anything else, I would support Trump strictly on the smacking he is giving the media. They are an enemy, a serious one. And they need to be trashed and I am glad he is doing it. Period.
I don’t think this is worth overthinking. 16 months is a heck of a long time in a society whose attention span is measured in seconds or minutes, maybe 3 days at the outside.
All I would wish to say to you is to separate the notion of “voting for him” from “liking what he’s doing”.
Earlier today on Twitter I called for the Des Moines Register to remove itself from publications called a “newspaper.”
I TRULY respect the military and I will vote for that guy.
It takes an arrogant, self-important jerk, or a bunch of arrogant, self-important jerks, to be so full of themselves that they think they are in a position to say someone should withdraw from the race, especially the one leading the field.
Who do they think they are?
2 words: Bill Clinton
Taking on the MSM with a fist-to-the-face is only going to drive his polls higher.
And he gains more cornermen support the tougher he slugs it our with them.
Go Donald. About time someone told it like it is. They will whine about some “ slight” when they lie/distort/deceive every day and never are held accountable for their actions.
The Donald can be amazingly astute at times.
The early Iowa caucus is taken ENTIRELY too seriously, and like the Wisconsin “open primary” of years past, in which ANYBODY, regardless of party, could go vote in the primary, without having to register until the appearance at the election site just before entering the voting booth, it has become relatively meaningless in terms of actually determining the intent of the voters of that state.
Trump knows he will be attacked. He also knows he is burying his competition in terms of visibility. Whether democrat or republican candidates have to deal with Trump every day. He is gambling as a businessman that his brand of marketing the country is starved for. If he can get one hundred million people (adults) to focus on him he can refine his message. Anyone knows that in marketing when you have a monopoly on a huge market you stand to make enormous gains.
Let’s see how he plays this out.
I’m a vet and I like Trump.
That's a really, really bad idea. That ensures that the "establishment" candidate will always win - primaries in stages allow for "insurgent" campaigns to prove their seriousness and ability to organize without having to compete in dozens of states simultaneously.
That said, Iowa seriously needs to get over itself.
They will probably eventually endorse Walker since he was raised in Iowa and Iowa shares a border with WI.
You have got to be kidding. Here is an earlier Post of mine regarding the Link you provided.
Draft Dodger? I guess anyone with a 300+ Lottery Number like Trump had is a Draft Dodger now. Mine was 207, so I guess I was a Draft Dodger as well.
Two of my old Friends were #1 and #3 in the Lottery. They both joined the Air Force two weeks later. They didnt want to become Infantry fodder, so I guess they were semi Draft
Dodgers even though they Served.
Way back when, the term Draft Dodger applied to those who chose Canada over Vietnam. The Draft Boards and Medical Exams determined timing and eligibility for everyone else.
My Brother had severs Asthma and was classified 4-F. Is he a Draft Dodger too? That Draft designation also cost him a Job at Delta Airlines a couple of Years later.

Poor Hillary: Can you imagine "President Hillary" ever going up against bullies like the Iranians with a "fist-to-the-face" attitude when needed?
I don't think so. She will probably go hide somewhere and let the Iranians run all over her.
Will the Iranians run all over "President Trump"? I don't think so.
I believe that if anyone could stand up against bullies like the Iranians with "a fist-to-the-face" attitude, it would be Trump.
The Stalinist Register, thankfully no longer reliably distributed outside the Des Moines metro area, will definitely not endorse Scott Walker.
