US Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) on Monday lashed out at Senate colleague and presidential hopeful Ted Cruz (R-Texas) over his support for real-estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
In a tweet on Monday, McCaskill compared Cruz to a "lost puppy" hoping to scoop up Trump's followers if he implodes on the campaign trail.
There's something unseemly about Cruz following Trump around like a lost puppy, hoping to get his leftovers when he finally flames out.

Cruz has recently cozied up to the real-estate magnate. He met with Trump in New York last week. He has been perhaps the most prominent GOP defender of Trump's controversial comments about Mexican immigrants. And on Saturday, he refused to denounce Trump's disparaging comments about Sen. John McCain's (R-Arizona) military record.
Analysts have speculated that Cruz's embrace of Trump is likely part of a larger strategy to tap into the populist rage within the conservative base on which Trump has capitalized.
Politico notes that Trump is likely siphoning away support for Cruz, whose scorched-earth conservative tactics have made him similarly popular with the Republican base at the expense of the his relationship with the GOP establishment. There's lingering resentment from some Republicans in Congress over the 2013 government shutdown that Cruz helped orchestrate.

Trump on Cruz:
They hit [Ted Cruz] harder than they hit the Democrats. If theyd hit the Democrats that hard, it would be a lot easier in life, but he took a stand and it was a brave stand, Trump said, adding, He really is a special guy.
Trump also contributed $5,000.00 to Cruz’s campaign. If Trump likes and trusts him maybe you might give Cruz the benefit of the doubt.
ROTFL....the interviewer spent the WHOLE TIME trying to get Ted Cruz to say something bad about John McCain or anyone else. Not one word about the problems the US faces and learning what Cruz would do to solve them.
The media is TOTALLY out of control!
If you study Cruz’s actions in his Senate election, he never trashes his opponent. He is always civil and says kind things even when he is being attacked unfairly. Dewey fought dirty in Texas, but Cruz stayed the course on not mounting personal attacks.
That is just who he is as a Christian. There is no diabolical plan or guile behind it.
The media is just as much responsible for the downfall of this country and the president.
It seems that all that goose-stepping and genuflecting that Sen. M. has been doing for Captain Zero has shaken her brain loose from its moorings.
It seems her poor brain then dried up, turned to dust and blew away...
This is where “air-heads” come from.
Clair? bbbbrrrrr....hearing the horses....
All those beating up on Trump will not get his supporters. And our wise Senator from Texas will be right there to pick up the pieces.
Or Trump surprises everybody and wins it all. I am happy either way.
She should know about following someone around like a lost puppy. She’s followed the muslim in the white house ever since he announced.
The left will always tell you who they fear the most.
I can give Cruz the benefit of the doubt, but when it comes to the trade legislation there is no doubt.
Cruz hurt himself with me on trade, and Donald is the only candidate in either party that seems to understand the trade and economic issues.
A Trump/Cruz ticket would be a good combination if Trump doesn’t let Cruz sway him on trade but does help Trump to see the conservative viewpoint on other matters.
I thought Cruz was real clear that he was not going to beat up on any republicans, Reagan’s 11th commandment, you know?
She ugly bich.
That’s “The Perky Katie Couric” in 20 years.
Hot AIr Clair
ust isnt all there
ftrying to force a a round peg
into a sqaure!
Ol “can’t hit my butt with both hands” Claire must have hired Davy DoWorst, that sounds just like the horsehockey he said about the time Cruz cleaned his clock.
It’s not so bad when the Demonrats and Rino opposition way underestimate their competition.
I will vote for the best person for the job and let the chips fall where they fall.
