I have a feeling you're going to find out that Trump has done more from a personal standpoint than any of your government tax sucking blowhards have ever done with OUR money for Vets...

I have a feeling you're wrong. Heck, Trump's own article shows that you are wrong. Here is how he describes his history of supporting our vets:

My record of veteran support is well-documented. I served as co-chairman of the New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission and was responsible, with a small group, for getting it built. Toward this end, I contributed over $1 million so our warriors can be honored in New York City with a proper memorial. I also helped finance and served as the grand marshal of the 1995 Nation’s Day Parade, which honored over 25,000 veterans. It was one of the biggest parades in the history of New York City, and I was very proud to have made it possible.

That's it. He helped build a memorial 32 years ago and helped put on a parade 20 years ago. I'll grant that it's a decent memorial (I used to walk by it every day on my way to work), but if that's all he has, he may not want to run around touting himself as some sort of amazing [or insert some other Trump self-loving superlative] supporter of vets.

It's not a good thing that Trump has brought it up that the VA's problems have not been solved? That McCain has not been a strong voice for the Vets?

McCain, I thought, was despised by conservatives for back-stabbing us every chance he has. And now some conservatives are defending McCain?

In my mind, the only proper defense of McCain is that he suffered greatly because of his service in Viet Nam, and for his whole life has borne those scars. His time in the US Senate and other endeavors in his life, however, are justifiably open to criticism, as are those of anyone who chooses a role of leadership.
