“Rent a guard force for military installation.”

Actually the Naval Postgraduate School is just what it’s name implies. I had a cousin who taught Russian there back during the cold war. It’s like a specialized university that teaches stuff that military leaders can’t get anywhere else.

Regardless. Military installations all over this country are guarded by federal employees who are the “police” for each particular installation. They control inflow, egress, security, etc.

It doesn’t make a difference about NPS (I know exactly what it is); it is still a military installation. Frankly the part about NPS is a diversion about the force and function of the federal employees who guard government installations.

The reason they have that force in the first place is that the government determined in its infinite wisdom it is better to have a government civilian force than a military one. My guess is that at one time somebody thought a government civilian would be cheaper than a soldier, sailor, Marine, etc. to guard the gate.
