To: Rennes Templar
I think of war heroes as those that save others soldiers lives, or give their lives doing so, or are key to winning great battles. Now McCain was captured and survived torture. He saved his own life. He’s a war survivor. Does that make him a hero? I’ve never thought of him as one in the above sense.

What I could tell you about McCain would get me banned from this board. Suffice to say, I don't think Trump was much off the mark.

I don’t know what the fuss is— Being captured does not make you a hero. I think I heard that he collaborated with the NVA and had special quarters away from the other men. He was to be released first after Nixon won the release but he resisted because he didn’t want to be shown as a favorite. Heroes go “above and beyond duty”. I don’t see that in McAmnesty at all.
