On July 17–the day after Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez allegedly opened fire on a recruiting center and then a reserve center, gunning down four US Marines–Fox News’ Juan Williams said he is “baffled” by the push to end gun free zones in military recruiting centers.
He said the center which was targeted is in a “strip mall” and that changing the gun-free policy would mean people would be walking around with guns, which could lead to “workplace violence.” He also suggested it could create a situation where a simple “dispute in the parking lot” could escalate into armed confrontation.
Fox News’ Martha MacCallum countered Williams by pointing out that this was a military recruiting center–regardless of where it was located–and that it why it was targeted.

Any career military guy who unbans on-base guns becomes the goat if some serviceman unloads on his peers, because the media, with its death-grip on the megaphone, will make him the goat. That Nidal Hasan managed to kill a bunch of people on his base despite the gun ban won't matter a whit to the media's dishonest ideologues. This is why the pols have to lead on this. If the public objects, they will make their wishes known at the polls.

I bet you the other storekeepers would welcome it. Having armed Marines in your strip mall would I assume keep down crime substantially.
Why my church always let the local police use one of our Sunday school classrooms during the week for taking their rest breaks while on patrol. Even installed a microwave and refrigerator for them. Does wonders for keeping the bad guys from vandalizing or breaking in.
