CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., July 16 (Reuters) - Five people were killed on Thursday including a suspected gunman who opened fire at two military-related facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee in an attack local officials described as brazen, brutal and an act of domestic terrorism.
CBS News quoted two law enforcement officials as saying the suspect was Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. No motive has yet been given. The suspected shooter, who has not been officially identified, is believed to have lived in the area and acted alone, local police said.
The other four killed were Marines at a Naval Reserve Center, a military official said in Washington, DC.
"We are treating this as an act of domestic terrorism," said Bill Killian, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, adding that no official determination of the nature of the crime had yet been made.
The suspect, seen driving in an open-top Mustang, is believed to have first gone to a joint military recruiting center in a strip mall, and peppered the facility with gunfire. No one was injured in the attack.

The gunman then drove off to a Naval Reserve Center about 6 miles (10 km) away, fatally shooting the four Marines before being fatally shot himself in a firefight with police.
Three others were wounded in the attacks, including a police officer and a Marine. The shootings began at about 10:45 a.m. local time and ended about 30 minutes later.
"There were numerous Chattanooga and Hamilton County officers who responded. They arrived on the scene extremely quickly. They actively and enthusiastically engaged this brazen criminal, and one of those officers was injured by gunfire from this criminal," Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher told a news conference.
A White House spokesman said President Barack Obama had been told about the shooting.

This is an open letter to EVERY person who has ever served in the Gov.’t since 1992.
Once again you have doused your hands in the blood of UNARMED service personal.
I will start with every member of Congress since 1992, through the presidents of Wm. Jefferson Clinton, George Walker Bush & Barack Hussain Obama, all the members of the Supreme Court [& all the lower courts as well] & every UNelected bureaucrat that has every worked for the gov.’t since then.
Everyone of you are responsible for the disarming of the military bases [every office space is a base] & disarming of Disabled Veterans, for your political correctness.
YOU ALL have paid lip service to us all saying that these problems were going to be corrected, but there was no political will to do so, and you had to bow down to the public service unions!.
So now we have 4 more dead MARINES, because they could NOT defend themselves or others.
They have sworn to defend the Country with their very lives [which you all are more than ready to throw away at will], but you have nor will NOT allow them to defend themselves.
You all have also disarmed Disabled Veterans who also have sworn the same oath. And again we are told we get to it later when we have the votes.
Now you get to go look into the eyes of those who have survived such assaults & those who have lost loved ones, but I doubt you’ll even bother to learn their names or anything about them. But you’ll be there for a photo op. & you’ll run over each other & anyone else who gets in your way to a camera or tv show where you’ll spout you drivel about how bad this was & maybe we’ll try to fix soon enough.
