I grew up thinking the FBI was an amazing organization.
Today I don’t trust them any farther than I can spit.
Watching Senate hearings it became so obvious they were lying and the agency was rotten to it’s very head.
I don’t think it could ever regain my trust.
BATFE, FBI, corrupt beyond belief, right in there with the White House, Congress, and now the SCOTUS.
It was. The FBI died along with Hoover. The director is a political appointment now instead of a promotion from within. Imagine the files on Obama today.

Which begs something else to ponder: When the time comes, will they side with us? Or will they “just follow orders”? I believe the latter.
Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s many of our neighbors were F.B.I agents and they were looked upon with awe. Once Clinton got into office he corrupted the agency and it hasn’t recovered. This newest director comes across as a real slime.

I grew up trusting the FBI, the IRS, the CIA, etc. The list is long.
I also used to trust ABC, CBS, NBC .....
We now live in a different world.
Now that you said that ... what is to stop a very evil and corrupt government (like the one we have now) from sending in an "asset" to do the shooting and then use a different and well chosen "fall guy" who is conveniently killed or commits suicide to take the blame.
This could be used as a distraction from the Iran debacle and/or bring focus on gun control and/or several other nefarious reasons.

Yep. Who can you trust in any level or branch of government anymore? It’s down to a small handful of individuals.
Today’s FBI are mostly lawyers, that is the problem.
