Employees of one small Missouri town had an extreme reaction when residents elected their first Black female mayor: 80% of the police department quit, along with the city clerk and two other staffers. And, according to the New York Times, no one seems to wants to guess, or even speculate about, the real reason for the mass exodus.
....The city attorney, clerk, and waste water treatment supervisor also resigned with the police officers. ...

Correction: A headline on an earlier version of this post on Facebook mistakenly stated that the entire police force had resigned it was 80%. We apologize for the error.

Parma is a little rural town down in the SE corner of MO, far away from the influence of metropolitan machine politics. I don't think the political dynamics are anything like Baltimore.
This is why after the story INITIALLY got out, was BURIED by the mainstream media.
The story was on the front page of liberal Yahoo! and then...as it became apparent the Democrats were being the racists....it got ignored and not heard from.
Doesn’t fit the template, and very very hard for the media to pretend the Democrats weren’t racist.
Why do you think the media basically IGNORES Tim Scott and Mia Love? Blacks who are conservative Republicans don’t fit their template, and therefore cannot be acknowledged.
Lol! Looks like I should have read the earlier comments. So, the black female mayor is actually a Republican! I was right then, wasn't I, Trailerpark Badass, about not judging someone's politics based on their skin color?
Call me Captain Obviousman, but why does a city of 700 some need a police force all of it’s own?
Too often, because there's things going on that they don't want outsiders (county Sheriff) sticking their nose into.
Shhh let them go...it’s precious watching them defend a corrupt Democrat political machine.
That’s smaller than the population of my subdivision. I guarantee I’d know the houses of the mayor, police chief, police officers, etc.
I live right outside a town just about that size. Everybody either knows where you live, or knows somebody who does.
One has to ask whether this is because the newly elected mayor is a black woman or because her opponent had been mayor for 37 years. That’s right - 37 years.
Maybe those cops and a few others who resigned were worried that their days of stiffing the town of Parma were over. Maybe they were worried about being charged with a few crimes.
I don’t know. Just sayin’ there is more to this story than we have been told.
Resignation is preferable to being fired for...
Yes.
there may be an r after her name but the look on the face says hardened angry black marxist
but...would you publish names and addresses just because you could?
considering the size of the town....there may not be much more news...forthcoming
I’m not fami;iar with the location proximity to other municipalities...or what other law enforcement might be available to them. without that info I have no good answer
she looks somewhat deranged I have to admit
Parma, Mo. population 713.
Wow. That brought back memories, mostly TVs with no remotes. ;)

No, I absolutely would not.
