JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Much of South Africa remains divided along racial lines, a stubborn legacy of apartheid government policies that forced black people to live in the worst areas while whites were handed the prime real estate.
So a white person living in South Africa's black townships is still an event fit for headlines. While some middle-class and wealthy neighborhoods are today more diverse, the townships have remained almost entirely black.
Howard James Fyvie, however, is a white guy who moved to one of these informal settlements several months ago. And he has just released a video that offers "whities" a tour of what he says are the township's most promiment locales: spaza shops (small convenience stores), barber shops and shebeens (taverns).

More proof you can’t fix problems with socialism
Socialism aims to fix the problem of inequality by making everyone (except the privileged inner party leaders) poor.
That’s how socialists solve the inequality problem. Everyone has hardly anything and everyone’s poor. Talk to people from the Soviet Union.
Seems friendly and happy enough. I don’t live there so I don’t know the reality, but I have read some VERY grizzly stories and seen horrific pictures about what has been done to whites there. Like this one:

We live under the illusion that all outcomes should be equal because we wish it and because we can’t accept the reality that all cultures or whatever group defining name you wish are not equal
Mom....you can find the same anti white murder and atrocity in Jackson Mississippi or recently in Vicksburg Mississippi where something just as grave occured just a few homes away from a famous freeperette of ours
James should be careful not to overstay his welcome or take his new friendships for granted. I have heard many stories about rural south african blacks chopping people up for any manner of reasons. It’s a nice effort though, as he tries to educate others on what it’s like living in those townships.

Who “handed” whites the prime real estate? What made it “prime”?
That's where I stopped reading.
Africans will be africans no matter where they reside. It is called culture, not color.
All the bars on doors and wire over the windows tell me they have a massive problem with theft and breaking and entering. If you have so little to even afford paint for your building, but spend a poor man’s fortune on security, this says to me that the number one concern is theft. Even of a barber shop? What’s really there to steal, for goodness sake?!
So why is that so in black communities worldwide? I’ve seen Indian, South Asian and Hispanic tenements/ghettoes/barrios that didn’t need such high levels of security. That seems to point to a culture thing — Black culture. Take by force or guile; no respect for private property...
We call him Timothy Snackwell.
