Maybe people feel bad taking things they didn't earn? I can only hope honesty not stupidity is driving this.

My Dad used to tell me a story about a dull-witted kid in his hometown whose reputation was so far and wide that tourists would stop near the stoop that he frequented and offer him a nickle or a dime.
He'd always give them both a careful look over before choosing the nickle.
Finally, his Mom would ask him if he knew that a dime was worth two nickles. "I sure do," he replied, "but if I chose the dime, word would get around fast and people wouldn't stop to offer me the choice ever again."

Location, location, location.
If I was starving in the wilderness I’d rather have
the chocolate.
If I was starving in the city I’d take the silver.

Drawing any conclusion at all from stupid social experiments like this leads to stupidity. Some people took the chocolate, and others the silver. There is no “therefore.”

Drawing any conclusion at all from stupid social experiments like this leads to stupidity. Some people took the chocolate, and others the silver. There is no therefore. No, Dice is honest. He would have shown the person who chose the silver bar. He didn't, ergo, not one of the people he made the offer to, made the choice of the silver bar. This is the result of our education system not teaching relative value. Ignorance on parade.

What was precious was the woman who almost took the silver bar because she doubted the authenticity of the chocolate!

Hershey bar..
it tastes good, and my silver sits and gathers dust..
in the apocalypse, what good is silver???
you cannot eat it, it will not heat your home, all you can do is melt it down and use it for bullets...
think about it

Well, he did offer to take the silver bar into the coin shop and verify it was real. Silver, sell it, buy chocolate...although I’d keep the silver for the time being.
