Rural people tend to be rebels. There are some minor differences between north and south but rural people are pretty much the same. Back when I ran traplines I used to sell hides to a true Georgia hillbilly near Stockbridge Michigan. Stepping into Willie's barn was like stepping into the northern Georgia hills. There were usually a half dozen old guys hanging around BSing and another 6 or 8 young guys doing the work and every one of them was full on deep south.
