With the 2016 general election a little less than 16 months away, key polling data for Hillary Clinton shows that her numbers look a lot like President Barack Obama's in 2012 and could be bad news for Republicans.
The American Communities Project took the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal polling data and ran it through its filter.
The numbers show Republicans may have a hard road ahead. Across the types for which we had sufficient numbers for a sample dense Big Cities, wealthy, diverse Urban Suburbs, and sprawling Exurbs figures for Clinton look eerily similar to those Obama scored in his re-election effort.
We also collected numbers from a group of less-populated rural communities groups counties ACP calls Rural Middle America, Graying America and the Aging Farmlands. These numbers show the familiar splits that favor Republicans.
But the over-riding point is that at this early stage of 2016, the electorate looks very similar in its 2012 patterns when you compare Hillary Clinton to the top three GOP competitors.

Bush has to more to the left.
The “eerie similarity” does not seem to warrant any red flags at NBC.
2012 - the election results.
What did the percentages look like in 2011?
Wow. You don't see that everyday.... unless you watch NBC.
Look at the source: NBC. Do you trust their numbers? I do not.
The election is November 2016. We still have a long ways to go...and there are many, many Democrats who haven’t been voting. We shall see.
I’d ask you to wake me when the revolution starts...but I’ll hear the reports. I am currently preparing myself for the wrath of the FReepers as they try to shame me into voting for a RINO again. “NaGaDa’t”
Trump beats hillary. Jeb, Christie, Kasich, and the rest of the dwarves don't give independents, new voters, or mildly loyal dems any reason to vote Republican.
uh, okay...
“An NBC poll that favors Hillary Clinton?
Wow. You don’t see that everyday.... unless you watch NBC.”
Notice that Trump is “conveniently” left out. Besides that, as others have pointed out, it’s NBC, they are as reliably RAT as is the Sun coming up every morning.
Any amnesty candidate the GOP nominatesis a designated loser.
Let a candidate run who paints Mrs. Clinton as siding with foreigners over citizens and things will look different.
NBC propping up Shrillary’s campaign. Wow, didn’t see this coming.
I see the echo chamber effect is in full swing here.
Trump would lose to Hillary in a crushing landslide. One could look at that result and say it was worth it as some sort of "Goldwater moment", but the result would be a disaster. If the Democrats could pick one candidate out of the bunch running for the GOP nomination it would be Trump. He is an election destroying gaffe away from handing Hillary the keys to the White House every time he opens his mouth.
Riiiiiight!
We will take advice from NBC.
I really do think there is no way in Hell, Jeb (no last name) can beat Hillary.
I also think there is no way in Hell, the GOPe will allow any nominee except Jeb (no last name)
The poll was cooked up a hard left professor one of the radical left wing schools in the US .
American University which is Division of the DNC located in DC .
AU is where the Dem hold all there rallies .
If Trump takes back the Slime House he should closed the place as a danger to the US Constitution.
I understand your point. But it just may be that a gaffe is not really a gaffe. Sometimes it is just truth. That mexico comment he made would have had mclame running yo throw himself on the nearest funeral pyre. Trump doesn’t back down from truth that others avoid.
George W Bush is the and will be the last Republican elected President of The USA
its over L adies and gentleman
Good try NBC. We’re so skeered.
At this stage in the runup to the election, name recognition carries a lot of weight in polling. With her husband having been President for 8 years, and then another decade of fawning press, Hillary Clinton may have more name recognition at this stage than anyone who has ever run for the job.
At this stage before Obama’s first election, he was a relative unknown. Heck he’s still an unknown.
