Man killed trying to rob ex-CNN anchor was 'street slave' who was given drugs to commit crimes claim police as they charge his 'owner' with HIS murder
The man who was killed as he tried to rob a former CNN anchor at gunpoint is now being described as a 'street slave.'
Lynne Russell, 68, had stopped for the night in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Tuesday June 30 when she was grabbed by an Tomorio Walton, who demanded valuables from her room.
But she was saved from the attack after her husband Chuck de Caro- a former CNN anchor who has served in the special forces - burst out of the shower and gunned the assailant.
Now, police are saying Walton entered the room at the behest of Skyy Durrell Barrs, a man who would allegedly give Walton drugs to commit crimes.
Barrs has now been charged with murder.

It is now being alleged that Barrs drove Walton to the motel and told him to rob Russell
When Barrs saw that Walton had been shot inside the room, he fled the scene in his car leaving Walton to die
Barrs has now been charged with murder
Detective Jodi Gonterman of the Albuquerque police department told CNN that an informant said Barrs gave Walton the gun used to commit the robbery and then drove him to the motel.
The informant also told police that after hearing the gunfire, Barrs drove around and found Walton covered in blood.
He got out of the car, and then after looking at him allegedly got back in and drove off with his girlfriend in the passenger seat.
The gun used by Walton was later retrieved in the parking lot by police.
He has now been charged with; felony murder, two counts of kidnapping, tow counts of armed robbery, aggravated battery, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, and aggravated burglary.
I think he kidnapped the robber/shooter.
BTW folks, if BO had sons...
A flag didn’t make him do it..?
Where is the part about the flag?
Now that's hard-core - the guy is armed even in the shower.
I always shower with a gun...
You just never know (cue the Psycho music...)
“Now that’s hard-core - the guy is armed even in the shower.”
LOL, no he really wasn’t. I think he managed to grab a gun out of his wife’s purse or something like that.
Still, pretty hard core guy, took a few shots himself in the fracas too I believe.
Guess I’m a little confused here. From the article:
“The couple were in New Mexico on a cross-country road trip which started in Washington, D.C., and was due to finish in California.”
Uh, they left D.C. with weapons? They were going to Cali with weapons? Don’t know for sure but I don’t think Cali has any reciprocity with anybody do they? As for D.C. Well we all know the deal there on weapons. So, what’s up with that? Didn’t they say they had permits? Will they be charged in any state that doesn’t have reciprocity. Glad it turned out for the good but you know they may just run in to some over zealous prosecuter someplace.
Must have been by accident that the story didn’t mention the flag.
Good questions:
On Sunday 11am to 1pm, KVOI 1030 am in the Tucson area we have an excellent expert on this topic, Charles Heller.

and
http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/america-armed-free
He is an outstanding intellect and has great guests that he interviews in depths for his shows Liberty Watch and America Armed and Free.
If he does not address this incident, I plan on writing him because I had the same concerns.
Both of your remarks are funny.
The Flag burst out of the shower and gunned the assailant.
His mother was named NECCO.
I'm absolutely positive that's how it happened. So help me God.
“Glad it turned out for the good but you know they may just run in to some over zealous prosecuter someplace.”
New Mexico is gun friendly.
They both worked for CNN, so they have universal MSM carry permits.
Not joking.
They were staying in a Motel 6??? Good God...I never made anything *near* what she made and I can easily afford something *much* better than *that*!
