The Earth could be headed for a 'mini ice age' researchers have warned.
A new study claims to have cracked predicting solar cycles - and says that between 2020 and 2030 solar cycles will cancel each other out.
This, they say, will lead to a phenomenon known as the 'Maunder minimum' - which has previously been known as a mini ice age when it hit between 1646 and 1715, even causing London's River Thames to freeze over.

Either they are gonna use this to explain why gore-bull warming isn't going to occur in the next 20 years OR.... it actually is gonna get colder... Which they will blame the cooling on SUVs...
Am I glad I opted for a Hemi rather than a prius. I’m doin’ my part. It’s already cooling off in Reno. Fifty three this morning and forecast 50 tomorrow morning. Guess I’ll have to leave the truck running all night in the driveway. :>}
They really don’t know Chit !!!
By 2030 I’ll either be pushing daisies or have one foot on the banana peel.
Linking temperature cycles to solar activity and the earth’s orbit has much more science behind it than the CO2 anthropogenic global warming theory.
Someone please set up the alarm clock for the Sun.
It’s the 10th of July and our high here in northern Ohio was 71.That’s about 20 degrees cooler than expected.I think that we could already be in trouble.
Not to far away from you and I’m glad I have a Jeep and F250 truck to run all night in the driveway.
We’re going to need fire wood.
Cut all the trees down now, and in thirty years we will have another 30 years of growth to cut down, that should do it.
I read an article a few years ago from one scientist, from Harvard of all places, who said mans contribution to global warming is akin to someone dropping an eyedrop of ink into the Pacific ocean and then someone coming along claiming all the oceans of the WORLD are now irreversibly polluted. That the levels of CO2 are so infinitesimally small that even if we could spew out 100 times the amount of C02 and methane we do now, it still would never make any significant difference. For example the percentage of methane in the atmosphere is 0.000017%. Now try to imagine how much man contributes to that. It’s ridiculous. I tend to agree with that, go to Google maps and zoom in as far as you can . Tell me how many people can you see. Then zoom out as far as you can go. Now tell me how much ocean you can see not to mention green. Almost all of South America is green. We can no more change the atmosphere than Al Gore can go conservative. Never ever ever ever ever going to happen.
Serve them global warmists right, although they’ll blame it on change. It’s always something.
I bet that guy is real popular at parties.
Well, I’m getting to work now. Got the BBQ fired up and the lawn mower just idling in the back yard.
What, mow the lawn? You got to be kidding!
All I know is that, living south central PA in one of those “normally colder valleys” as the National Weather Service terms it in what is supposed to be a temperate zone the grass has just about completely been replaced by moss and lichen and native trees are giving way to aspens.
THIS IS NOT “WARMING”!
This is the climate change we should be worried about. This might not be just a mini Ice Age. It could be the real thing. The Earth is overdue for one.
We’ll be glad to have fossil fuels to keep from freezing then and the CO2 fools can be left out in the cold.
Not even the obligatory mention of globull warming in the article. If this is accurate, it should be the end of AGW theory.
According to the web, she's a professor of mathematics at Northumbria University. LLandudno is in Wales.
I'm surprised she can do *real* climate science in Britain.
Nonsense! Warming and cooling is all caused by humans and our activities. We must all die for the earth the be OK.
