The resolution notes, in part:
Resolved, That the Senate condemns in the strongest terms possible the racist rhetoric against immigrant families made by Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX); and be it further
Resolved, That the Senate condemns in the strongest terms possible the racist rhetoric against immigrant families made by Presidential candidate Donald Trump; and be it further
Resolved, That the Senate calls upon the State of California to divest from Donald Trump, The Trump Organization, and any affiliated entities; and be it further
Resolved, That the Senate calls upon private businesses and individuals throughout California to end all business ties with Donald Trump, The Trump Organization, and any affiliated entities; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
“The state of California will not stand for this type of racist rhetoric and racist behavior. Today we stand and call upon the state of California to dump Trump!” Sen. Isadore Hall III (D-Compton), who co-authored the resolution (SR 39), said outside of the Senate chambers, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Echoing Sen. Hall’s sentiment, Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de León reportedly said Trump’s “vitriolic language denigrates the experiences of my family.” De León was born to an immigrant mother and is a staunch supporter of immigration reform. He was one of the major Democratic voices behind the introduction of a package of ten bills on immigration reform designed to expand benefits granted to illegal aliens in California.

If we splinter off everything within 15 miles of the coasts (save for the Gulf coast) would go a long ways towards fixing the problem.
This is the same rat party that vehemently condemned blacklisting, which is exactly what they are proposing. We are rapidly approaching the point at which certain political speech will be criminalized.

Maybe the problem is that California has run out of decent drinking water.
Maybe the California lawmakers should spend more of their energy trying to destroy those vicious Mexican gangs that roam freely in California and terrorize Californians of all ethnic groups, instead of worrying about what Trump and Cruz are going to do next.
That’s too practical. Mexican gang members are not running for political office, hence they are not the enemy. Besides, most of these legislators and their backers live in secure areas and require a constant supply of maids, cooks, gardeners, cabana boys, babysitters, valets, chauffeurs and masseuses, and they need them cheap.

This is a perfect 1st amendment case. A state government sanctioning punitive action against somebody exercising their right to free speech.
Absolutely no sale. I WILL NOT VOTE for a Trump/Cruz ticket.
I will vote for Cruz and if Cruz picks Trump for his running mate, I’ll live with it.
You have the ticket backwards, at best. Ted Cruz REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race.

What’s really sad; the State of California is slowing dying from all the LIBERAL garbage.
So, all this radical DemocRAT garbage is only going to cause more and more normal thinking people to leave this state. The Hispanic population has already taken over the state anyway .. which is what the DemocRATS say they want.
We’ll see how much the DemocRATS like it when all their sacred places become trashed by the illegals.
I love where I live .. and I don’t want to leave. I hope I’m not forced to make that decision.
