He is asked about abortion and he says only rape, incest, life of abortion exceptions. The interviewer asks what if a woman is pregnant and has an abortion. Trump actually says “it depends when” but then he’s interrupted and then he goes on, “it has to be in one of those 3 categories” (rape, incest, life of mother).

This means either that (1) the interruption gave him a chance to think, and he was correcting it to “it must be in one of those 3 categories.” Or, it could mean (2)that he has one view about those that ARE taking place, and that he has another view about those that are justifiable. For those that ARE taking place he finds later term abortions to be abhorrent.

Another interesting thing he says at the outset is that this is the first time he’s ever been asked this...by a reporter, I suppose he means.

We also know he’s a convert to pro-life from back in 2011 or so. He could still be working out some of what he thinks. He should read Reagan’s book.

Highly doubtful. More likely that this was a position he took because he was running for President.

Interview is from January this year (2015)

Or, more likely, the Reporter uncovered Donald's true position in a moment of Donald being flustered.

In other words, this is a political position of convenience for "The Donald".

“it has to be in one of those 3 categories”

Why would somebody post and not put the entire quote up?

We should be thankful that he's at least nominally pro-life. Since his change was in 2011 and since it's not foremost on his mind, it's understandable. He's intelligent enough to know this is an important issue for millions of voters (to say nothing of babies).

We'd do well to remember he's from New York, he's a pop culture icon, a man of the world, and change is welcomed...

All that said, I'm still suspicious of him and his motives and watching him carefully on all the issues.

Trump is pro-abortion in that interview, and he makes it clear that his 2011 fake conversion to run for president as a brand new republican, and at age 65, was worse even than Romney’s fake conversion at age 59 in 2005, to run for president.

xzins, you did the same thing, you misquoted Trump.

He did not say that, he did the Trump thing of trying to make you THINK that he said it.
