JANUARY 2015
First he states he is in support of Abortion for Rape, Incest and Health of the Mother.
Then Trump was asked about a abortion by a woman being pregnant, and not from rape or incest, and Trump answered that it depends on how far along the baby is.
It depends when
INTERVIEWER: So say a woman is pregnant, and it is not in any of those exceptions [rape/incest]categories, and she chooses to have an abortion TRUMP: it depends when, it depends when

They can try, but quite a few state attempts to put restrictions on abortions have been overruled or temporarily blocked by federal courts this year; waiting periods, sonagrams, etc.
The only way to really change abortion law is the SCOTUS. Most everything else that's tried is constantly challenged and blocked or overruled in the lower courts.
The makeup of SCOTUS and federal courts in general will have to become more conservative to ever overturn Rowe and let the states make their own abortion laws.
No single person has greater influence and power regarding abortion in America, than the President of the United States, and head of the Executive branch of government, and it goes far beyond choosing judges.
WOW...the Donnie’s Moral Compass.. appears to have “evolved” rather quickly.....doesnt it
January to July.....7 months...
Inter: 'Suppose a woman is pregnant and is not in any of those exception categories, and she chooses to have an abortion.'
T: It depends when..it depends when..it depends when...but...but...but...the answer is...if it's not in those...R: ...(earlier - chooses to have an abortion)..should she..(something)...early in pregnancy excuse me...if it's not in those...I'm pro-life...Mark, very simple. I'm pro-life.
at the 'but..but...but' he's being talked over by the reporter (which generates the 'excuse me'.)
So, he was starting this thought: "It depends when..but...if it's not in those..." How was Trump going to finish that oft interrupted statement? I think it was: "It depends when, but if it's not in those categories, THEN IT'S NOT PRO-LIFE."
Xzins,
You are arguing over only one aspect of that conversation.
Frankly, his exception for Rape, Incest and Life of the Mother should have been enough to convince you that he is not Pro-Life.
Partially Pro-Life, yes, but enough for a Christian, No.
See #62 and #66.
I’ve already said (many times, but these are 2 more) that RILOM (rape, incest, lifeof mother) is a quasi-pro-abortion, quasi pro-life position.
“Life of mother” alone still allows legal abortion, so it is pro-abortion only in that semantic sense.
I’m betting ALL of our pro-life candidates make a ‘LIFE of mother’ exception.
However, just so we’re fair to Trump, the actual words Trump utters DO NOT end with “it depends when”.
They are “It depends when, but, if it’s not in those...Mark, it’s simple. I’m pro-life.”
He doesn’t finish the thought because of constant overtalking/interruption by Mark Halperin.
Why do you always work in that “life of mother”?
No one insists that a pregnant mother be allowed to die on the chance of saving the unborn baby, but you did this with Rand Paul, why keep trying to divert the conversation into life of the mother?
You are such a dishonest, petty little troll.
You keep pinging another pro-choice poster to help you and your personal attacks against me, as you defend the pro-choice Trump, you sure don’t come off as a pro-life Minister.
Trump is so totally a plant to siphon off Cruz votes.
All Trump did after speaking openly and revealing his position, was catch himself and go back to his talking point.
If you noticed, he didn’t want to reveal his true pro-abortion position at all, he was hoping that his talking point would end it at the beginning of the interview.
In the past you tried to defend Trump’s abortion position revealed in this video, with the argument that he was talking about how soon after the rape it was OK to abort.
You have tried different approaches to defending Trump.
Here is another thread where you were harping on the “life of the mother” theme, on that thread you were defending Rand Paul’s pro-choice views, and you even claimed that the GOP is pro-choice when it comes to rape and incest exceptions.
You also got as nasty and worked up as you always do on this topic.

***”for the last couple of years he has been trying to move the GOP into a pro-choice party”***
“I think the GOP has been a ‘limited’ pro-life party for years. JMHO. They have always supported the rape, incest, life of mother exceptions, iirc. That makes them ‘limited’ pro-life. “
Thank you (again) dearest xzins.
I happen to agree with you.
Backed traced some of the posts, but stopped when I saw that the falsification-troll-ankle biter was at again.
I salute Mr. Trump for not backing down to the entrapment MSM and their hideous reporters/writers. I've started to TIVO his interviews for purposes of accuracy.
I'm grateful he has made ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION the national topic.
Just look at two of his fellow candidates who are NOT criticizing him: TED CRUZ & BEN CARSON

By the way, you sure don’t post like a man of the cloth, xzins.
