Last week, 45-year-old San Francisco pier shooting suspect Francisco Sanchez shot and killed Kate Steinle while she was out walking with her father. She died in front of him.
Sanchez, here illegally from Mexico, has seven felony convictions and has been deported five times.
So how did he wind up with a federal agents gun? Reports say he got it by breaking into the car of a law enforcement officer with the Bureau of Land Management on June 27th.
Perhaps the real question is, why was Sanchez here walking free if he had been deported five times?
Real Clear Politics is reporting that the feds knew Sanchez was in San Francisco and had asked the city to keep him in custody. However, because it is a so-called sanctuary city, San Fran officials refused to do so, leading to what can only be considered totally predictable and needless violence.
Fox Reporter Jesse Watters confronted the San Francisco Board of Supervisors over this situation below:
(Watch video at link)
For the record, Sanchez told KGO-TV the shooting was a sleeping pill-fueled accident.
These fools are incredibly naïve and stupid!
He already told us! He found it on a park bench, wrapped in a t-shirt. And it was obviously some kind of experimental government-issue weapon because it started firing automatically as soon as he picked it up. Perhaps it had some kind of "reverse-biometric-safety" mechanism on it...
Why did the government employee leave his pistol in a car ?
Fast and Furious
Because you're racist for even questioning it, that's why.
I haven’t confirmed it, but an early report said he fired it 3 times by accident...it just mysteriously went off...3 times...
Anybody confirm the 3 shots story?
I think we should tattoo every illegal alien who is caught here with a 3” tall letter “I” in the middle of their forehead. Maybe that would make it easier to identify them. If they get caught a second time, add another “I” to their forehead. Eventually, even the INS is going to have a hard time explaining how a felon gets in here 5 times.
I am at a loss to understand why a BLM employee has a government issued firearm? There are entirely too many federal agents who have no business with a firearm.
The government bureaucracies have been purchasing boatloads of ammo for their people, who are sort of a government army.
Because you're racist for even questioning it, that's why.
I'm sorry, you have to be both racist AND subversive for questioning this.

BUDGET REPORT--EXCERPT The San Francisco Mayors Budget Office is projecting a $21.2 million General Fund shortfall for FY 2015-16 and a $ 66.5 million shortfall for FY 2016-17, based on current operations, staffing levels and estimated revenues. This projection may change depending on a number of things including the economy, additional State of Federal impacts including the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), open labor contract, benefit costs and current year overspending or supplemental appropriations.
For the first time in fifteen years, the Mayors Budget Office did not ask Departments to make any reductions in their budgets. Although the current deficit projections look better than last year, we will still be forced to make difficult decisions to produce a balanced budget.
Last year, a consensus deal was unanimously passed by the Committee that found over $40 million in budget savings with over $23 million for fiscal years 14-15, and over $18 million for fiscal years 15-16. With the additional savings, the Budget and Finance Committee was able to:
Secure $3 million in increased funds for homeless services including rental subsidies, eviction defense and homeless prevention efforts
Add $2 million in increased funds for food security
Increase in funds for Vision Zero Pedestrian efforts throughout San Francisco
Add additional park patrol officers
Increase funds for the SFFD arson investigation team
Increase funds for crucial city cleaning and maintenance services throughout the city
Invest in youth and senior specific services
Maintain our continued investment in public safety

THIS ITEM IN THE SAN FRANCISO BOARD OF SUPERVISOR'S BUDGET REPORT IS A HUGE RED FLAG--- For the first time in fifteen years, the Mayors Budget Office did not ask Departments to make any reductions in their budgets. Although the current deficit projections look better than last year, we will still be forced to make difficult decisions to produce a balanced budget.
Asking Dept's to reduce budgets? In a city teeming w/ tax revenue? Where is the money going?
OPEN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISOR'S BOOKS NOW This is the very same MO used by the Illinois govt official who stole $80 million tax dollars using a secret bank account to siphon off govt monies.

Massive govt corruption might include forgery, falsification of official records, fraudulent city budget entries, tax evasion, illegal wire-transfers, misuse of public office.

Can you see a bunch of diesel dykes, hipsters and assorted millenials chanting that in the park?
Part II. Armed criminals are good for the government. It demands more police, security, equipment, construction, contractors, administrators, programs (need I go on?)
One possible explanation.
Perhaps he was carrying earlier in the day, he needed to go into a business or gov. office that forbids concealed carry.
Like a good law abiding citizen he leaves the pistol in the car when he goes into the store.
I have no idea whether that happened, just a thought.
CONgre$$ can pass a law that invaders are not allowed to have guns. Yep, that’ll solve things.
Then we could call him Captain.
Routinely, here in the Occupied Nine Bay Area Counties, we have everything except morals, ethics, principles, and informed consent.
And the federal agent was not named and there is nothing about how the gun got left under the benchy or any disciplining of said federal agent.
There is something else here.
The BLM, Park Service, and Forest Service all have law enforcement officers who have jurisdiction over the federal lands they oversee. These officers are armed. Often, each agency will also have agreements with local Sheriffs to patrol the large areas of federal land within their particular jurisdictions. Field offices are often in rural places, but the main offices are most likely located in major metro areas. LEOs for these agencies are responsible for patrolling those places, too.
Not saying it's right, just stating what's out there.
Very prevalent in the west.
