According to News4Jax, the Mayor raised “crowd control” issues. Apparently more than a few observers got PISSEd!
If I were in his shoes I would have checked into permission with the authorities and statutes first, or if I had not done that, obey them politely and then research the statues for next year, or next day. There is a higher tension these days between scofflaws and authorities. Being a flippant jackass doesn’t help. If you’re going to crank up music in public - no matter what the tune - you might want to be ready for some consequences. I don’t think this guy is going to be saddled with a felony, let alone slapped with a hefty fine. He may even at some point be asked to play for the local police Christmas party.
I could see it if he was playing the Hildebeeste’s screeching rendition.

Actually...our national anthem is a VERY easy song to play on a guitar. If it’s an electric you can have some real fun with it.
