The Stagger Lee story continues.

The Primettes later became the Supremes, the name under which they are better known.

I love “Prisoners of Love” from the Mel Brooke’s film, “The Producer’s” - excellent choice.
How about “Cell Block Tango” or also known as “He Had It Coming” from the musical, “Chicago”.

Smokey Joe's Cafe is long gone, but the last time I ate at their North Hollywood location, I got far better service than the singer of this song.

Late to the party, but here goes: “Going to Town”, by The Afghan Whigs.
Lover mine
Get your coat and come outside
I want to take you for a ride
On into town
Lover fair
We’ll be looking sharp, I swear
I want them all to stop and stare
When we take ‘em down
Goin’ to town, burn it down, turn around
And get your stroll on, baby
I’ll get the car
You get the match
And gasoline
And as we riii-ide
Away into the countryside
I feel as though I must confide
There is a cost
“When you say ‘Now we got Hell to pay’? “
Don’t worry, baby, that’s okay
I know the *boss*...

I think that snippet of a song “Dirty Maggie May” is on the “Let It Be” album and I’m believe it may be an old English folk song about a not so nice lady British thief.
