As more and more people home school, I think the Dept. of Ed will make exit tests mandatory for home schooled kids in order for them to get their diplomas. The tests, of course, will be on the common core curriculum and not on general knowledge. The government is only interested in whether the kids have been properly indoctrinated, not whether they have mastered the traditional subject material. These kids will fail and they won’t receive diplomas. This is one way to discourage home schooling. For this reason, I would fight any proposal the state has in making exit tests mandatory for a high school diploma.

Actually, I think Home Schooling is what will last. It is fairly obvious that we are headed for a great financial collapse (among other things)...not just here but as a worldwide phenomenon. When (not IF) this happens, we will all pretty much be on our own.
