U.S. president meets with Pentagon officials following weekend airstrikes in eastern Syria
The complex threat of the ISIS extremist group will not be ultimately defeated by guns but through ideology, Barack Obama says.
The U.S. president made the remarks Monday on the military campaign against the Islamic State group after being briefed by Pentagon officials earlier in the day.
He called for co-operation among countries in a fight he said spills over borders. Obama will look to partner with Muslim communities that he said are often the target of ISIS attacks.
"The battle for hearts and minds is going to be a generational struggle," he said.

Maybe he shouldn’t send her....
Actually, IMHO we've been dragged into the sewer by a coalition that includes: 1) Those who want free stuff and think they deserve money from other people, 2) Ideologues (generally with a pseudo-intellectual demeanor and/or background - including a fair number of academics), 3) Union-type pro-labor voters who don't get that liberal policies are actually anti-labor, 4) Rich elitists who are often motivated either by guilt - or by a sense of false philanthropy predicated on supporting populist positions that won't ever have a personal impact on them, 5) Some “My family have always voted for democrats” democrats, 6) A significant number of well-intentioned people who think they are promoting fairness or saving the environment, or preventing violence etc. - in the same way that well-intentioned people are very upset by mail sent to them telling them that all the polar bears are drowning, 7) A mix of others who are motivated by either race, gender, sexual orientation, and 8) Those motivated by hatred who just want to ‘stick it to’ someone (e.g. stick it to those rich people)..
Thanks for the morning wit, guys. I can use all y’all got these days
Laughter is the best medicine for a lot of things.
For everything else, it’s bourbon. CHEAP bourbon... in large quantities.
Or get a prescription from Dr. Cliff Huxtabke for copious amounts of ludes and Benadryl!
Did you ever see the flick “Law Abiding Citizen”? There’s a scene in it where this Feminazi judge makes a comment that “I’m a judge and can do anything I want”.
She then picks up her booby trapped cell phone and it blows a fair chunk of her head off. Wonder Woman be very, very dead then.
Very enjoyable!
Dr. Cliff Huxterble
Fixed it.
FYI, I worked in Hollywood in the mid 70’s, and two of the most despised people (according to the average workers, as well as producers) were Andy Griffith, and Bill Cosby. I never met anyone there who didn’t hate them.
I have never watched an episode of that show.
Or Seinfeld
Or Family Ties
Or Friends
I do like “I Spy” though.
“...Andy Griffith, and Bill Cosby...”
REALLY?!?! Cosby surprises me. That’s too bad.
No puddin’ pops for YOU, boy.... :^)
It just proves how good an actor he really is : )
I thought we were going to defeat ISIS by giving them jobs...???
Jobs illegals refuse to do?? Or do they want high paying jobs like secretary of immigration?
State Department spokeswoman floats jobs as answer to ISIS (February 17, 2015, Fox News)
“I thought we were going to defeat ISIS by giving them jobs...???”
Now now, SOL, lets be fair here....
Harf thought of “Jobs For Jihadists” and it may indeed have merit. We could pay them to chop each others heads off. I readily admit that it is a well disguised Ponzi scheme, but Jihadis aren’t known for their intellectual prowess. If we paid each of them $10,000 USD per month, it would save us a fortune, save the lives of our troops, and the market cap for adult entertainment stock would triple!
I guess he is.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a Jello Pudding Pop.
But the little children love him !
As a kid I watched Fat Albert every week.
I bought it at age 4.
I didn’t know 4 year olds could obtain credit cards.
Well, Griffith I knew was closer to Lonesome Rhodes in “A Face in the Crowd” (probably his best role ever). For all of Cosby’s family-friendly schtick, I always sensed a dark undercurrent in him. I thought about writing up a screenplay with him in mind (20 years ago, mind you) where he played a character that turned out to be as awful as he’s been exposed to be.
???
I watched Fat Albert; I didn’t buy anything.
” For all of Cosbys family-friendly schtick, I always sensed a dark undercurrent in him.”
Interesting, so did I
