Expected presidential candidate and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's (R) family apparently isn't on the same page as he is when it comes to same-sex marriage.
In a profile of Walker's wife, Tonette Walker, The Washington Post reported Sunday that the Supreme Court's recent marriage ruling was a "particularly tough day" for the Walker family.
Some of their children, she said, are big proponents of same-sex marriage and were bothered by Walker's call for a constitutional amendment to reverse the high court's decision.
"That was a hard one," Tonette Walker said. "Our sons were disappointed. ... I was torn. I have children who are very passionate [in favor of same-sex marriage], and Scott was on his side very passionate."
She further said she has a lesbian cousin and noted that one of their sons was the best man at the relative's same-sex wedding last year.
"It's hard for me because I have a cousin who I love dearly she is like a sister to me who is married to a woman, her partner of 18 years," she said.
Tonette Walker also said it shouldn't be surprising that the family has some political disagreements.

It was women who demanded the “right” to murder unwanted babies.
If a majority of women did not condone and support abortion it would never have become legal. But even many so-called “good” women secretly wish to keep available “a way to deal with that unwanted and embarrassing pregnancy”which resulted more likely from an illicit affair than a rape. All those back-alley abortions of the past required the willful choice of a woman.
People have been murdering to cover up other sins for as long as there has been people.Sometimes and some places it succeeds.
Or .. Tonette finally decides that she wants to become “Tony”.
Matt is not rotten. He is a Facebook friend and conservative most issues. Most college kids I know who support conservative issues also support same-sex marriage. The education establishment has propagandized them.
Just like a RINO.
To me, the statement by his wife was self-serving at best. Whether it was a planned thing or not is a matter of belief and faith I guess.
Sowing seeds of discontent on Scott Walker. I see this as a generational split because (obviously) Scott’s sons have been subjected to public school brain washing (no matter how well they were raised.) so sad.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Whilst tremendous deficits, taxes, student loans, SS/Medicare insolvency, Muslims wanting to kill them, race riots, possible economic/pandemic calamities, et al await them
They worry about a few thousand or so “marriages”
Nothing like priorities, Texters
I hear this a lot from the mid-20s republicans, especially the ones who work on campaigns. They are done fighting for social conservatism.
You’re right. Almost every family I know, including mine, has a youngster in favor of gay marriage.
Mine is a 20 year old granddaughter with tattoos. (Of course).
There are gay couples that raised kids who believe in traditional marriage too..
Liberals are filth ...
Like it or not, this battle is lost.
Nope.. they sure aren't.
i bet he didn’t raise them.
i bet they were raised by government schools and TV and movies and music.
and they are of a generation that easily agrees with groupthink.
it’s going to get much worse. the 2%-3% has control of the media and the ‘RAT party all out of proportion to their actual numbers.
there will be Nazi-like purges in companies, in education, in government, in the military, so that all are made to publicly endorse whatever the 2%-3% want rather than lose their jobs and their livelihoods. much like all Cubans were expected to make a public show of “loving” Fidel and all North Koreans are expected to “vote” for their nutty dictators, we will see similar public proclamations become de facto required to have any kind of quiet life here going forward.
Then America is lost.

Hmmm, some of them are for the ABOMINATION of same sex people directly defying God? Well Mrs Walker, you should be teaching your children that gay sex is a sin so severe in God’s mind that He used the strongest word available to denounce it and imposed the most severe form of punishment for those who practiced it, and to teach your kids that God will NOT be mocked like the gay community does o n a regular basis, and That God’s judgment IS coming on them and that your kids who support it are on the wrong side of the issue-
Only if there is no God. As it is, there is a God, and there are only moments of quiet between His judgments. We are in one of those quiet moments now, but the gavel will fall, and evil will retreat again. Our duty until that time is to hold the fort. For believers, there is no losing. There is only giving up. Don't give up.
Peace,
SR
His son participated in a gay marriage as best man.
[[”It’s hard for me because I have a cousin who I love dearly she is like a sister to me who is married to a woman, her partner of 18 years,” she said]]
Why is it hard to agree with God that homosexuality is an ABOMINATION? While it’s sad that family members might give God the middle finger, you have to realize that they have free choice to do so- and determine NOT to support them in their direct defiance of God- That isn’t hard Mrs Walker- If you would rather support your cousin than obey God then make that decision and be done with it- IF you wish to obey God, then take up your cross and move o n- Your cousin has free choice- there is nothing you can do to influence her except give Her God’s word- and if she rejects you and your God, then move on
What’s hard Mrs walker is NOT taking a stand and pretending to be for both sides so that you aren’t rejected by either- it’s called compromise- But you NEED to tell your cousin that you do not approve of her sin, point out that God takes that sin very seriously, and inform your cousin that you will always be there for her IF she were ever to come to the realization that she is lost and going to hell,- and move on-

What I celebrate on July 4 and other patriotic holidays is what America once was... vibrant, freedom-loving and traditional. While I agree the America we once knew is lost and will never return, I feel blessed to have grown up in a time when we were strong and confident.
