Just wait for China to bailout Greece with U.S. bonds. That will make you quiver just a bit.

That map at the link pretty much tells the story. Not even one of the 35 or 40 districts has voted in favor of the referendum.

“If the vote is indeed “No” which I suspect it is......Greece is a failed nation”

Greece has one way out - leaving the EU currency. Maggie Thatcher was smart enough to participate in the union, but keep its currency.

The rebuilding for Greece will not occur under the thumb of Brussels.

Great choice Greece!

“Now it is necessary for the rest of the world to turn their backs on Greece. They will have run out of other people’s money . The only source of money for the government will be bank deposits, pension balances and whatever stash of precious metals may be hidden under their citizen’s mattresses. After all these years they are going to have to spend their own money. Oh, the horrors! “

It is easier than that.

1. Freeze bank accounts.
2. Print Drachmas and make legal currency.
3. Change balances from euros to drachmas.
4. Renounce sovereign debt. Happens all the time in history.
5. Rebuild.

It will not be easy. It is the only way out.

Within a short time, many lenders will be excited to lend money to Greece, since they have no debt.

The people of Greece don’t want out, though! They want to stick with the Euro. They want no austerity AND to stay in the Eurozone.

“The people of Greece don’t want out, though! They want to stick with the Euro. They want no austerity AND to stay in the Eurozone.”

It was the older generations who want to stay in the EU. The younger generations voted to leave. Generalization, but largely true.

This vote strengthens the President’s hand in negotiations.
If it turns out there is a 61% vote for NO, that is a huge middle finger to Brussels.

The Russians and the Chinese maybe sniffing around for opportunities if they help bail out Greece.

Where are you hearing that? When asked is they want to leave the Eurozone, the vast majority of Greeks say no. Even the government of Tsipras has said that a no vote doesn’t mean they will leave the Eurozone.

They just want more money with no obligation to not pay it back. Look at the campaign that Tsipras ran six months ago: no austerity, better concessions on the 340,000,000,000 Euro loan, and more loan guarantees.

They voted for that! This isn’t about freedom, this is about freeloading.

People are overestimating the willingness of Russia and China to step in and rescue these leeches.

The “species” of humans that live in Greece are pretty much useless. Would you put a bunch of welfare dependent losers under your wing? With only one petroleum deposit in the Aegean sea, there really aren’t many interesting natural resources here either.

Let these people choke on their vomit and hopefully the rest of the world learns a lesson.

Again, see my last post. I highly doubt Russia or China are interested in subsidizing these low-lifes. The people are worthless and there aren’t many natural resources on the land. Who would want to invest in that?

This election will be stolen by the money people . I think the dependants will then riot and it could be very bad.
I am not happy that the Greek socialist have a penny of our money-— $11 BILLION!! This is why we are totally broke and secretly print money by “ The FED to buy
U.S. Treasury securities to be held by the Federal Reserve: currently at $2.6 trillion.
We are will be Greece in 4 years.
Actually, look for Obama to pour in more money soon to help the commies.

It’s a victory for nationalism and for economic independence. Hopefully, Greece follows through by returning to the Drachma, exiting EU, and taking charge of her destiny.

...projection on Greek TV suggests 61% voted 'No'...
The projected turnout in Sunday's referendum was about 60%

Since most people probably did not understand the real Deals to be made, they just voted for: Do I want to be called/identified as Greek or European,
with the 2001 new currency Euro as a major identification of being European.
40 % did not vote and are not interested.
That means about 3 million (61%) voted No, that makes it 33 % of the Voting age population.
One could argue, Greece made great strides towards a European participation.after introduction of the Euro fairly recently in 2001.
