Although they seem to think they do, five Ivy League-educated lawyers in league with the Prince of Darkness have not the authority to redefine marriage, which was not defined by man in the first place.
God established marriage in Genesis 2:23-24, The man said, This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (ESV)
The Supreme Court is not the first to try and change the institutions definition. As Christ explained to the Pharisees in Matthew 19, Moses command to issue a certificate of divorce did not change Gods definition of marriage. Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. They said to him, Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away? He said to them, Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. (Matt. 19:4-9, ESV)
As it was in the beginning, and as it was in the 1st century, so it is today.
While the Supreme Court can write a tortured and illogical ruling to attempt to redefine legal marriage, it has no authority over spiritual marriage as God established. Anything other than a God-sanctioned marriage is sexual immorality.
The five justices who wrote the majority opinion should know that. Two are Catholic. Three are Jews. They were certainly if they were ever practicing Catholics and Jews taught the truth about marriage. Sadly, theyve sacrificed their souls on the altar of universalism (look for more on universalism in Mondays column, How have we fallen so far?). They will answer for their apostasy.
Marriage has not changed as far as God is concerned; therefore, it has not changed as far as the Christian is concerned. Take heart in that, fellow Christian.
America is in danger of attack from our enemies while 'leaders' sit idly by limp-wristed and lisping like the fruit-cake pansies they truly are.
Game, Set, Match.
The devil you say? [Joke son, I say joke]
Well yes. Quintessentially devil in M.O. — not just your generic wicked move.
I will ascend, I will surpass...
And now we have a newly minted meaning of “marriage.” Civil unions were not cutting it, even though virtually everybody was doing them by this point.
Those in charge of interpreting the Constitution need to read the 10th Amendment. Anything not “explicitly” (that means by name) stated in the Constitution is a power belonging to the states, not the federal government.
And then the other side frames the issue as us wanting to “force religion on people.”
We do need to be able to answer the inevitable questions with good theology. Does this mean we want to ban the marriage of Buddhists, for example.
As far as the Soopremes are concerned they could edict it legal for someone to marry a ham sandwich.
They is, after all, the Soopremes.
SCOTUS (Criminals for the Tyrant) refined English
itself, re-writing what was written and even
changing definitions two different ways in their
effort to destroy America and its Constitution.
Every Christian and Jewish clergyman should stop performing civil marriages. Let people get “civilly” married at the town hall by the clerk. That covers any civil laws. Then they have their REAL marriage performed in the church/synagogue of their choice. That resolves one issue.
But that doesn’t solve the issue at hand; namely, America is going to hell in a hand basket real quick. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus
The devil threw down the gauntlet, and it had his signature on it.
Should I or any other Spirit fueled believer lie down for this?
NO.
They might have lay down everywhere else on the globe. But it would be such a shame if they lay down here too.
That's an argument based on a false premise which I've successfully debunked many times.
ISIS wants to force their religion on people.
Christians in America want their rights restored so that other groups don't impose their secular views upon them and force them to be active participants in an act they deem morally objectionable.
But then, Liberals don't understand moral arguments because they don't have any morals.
Is this supposed to be an answer to a very biblical question? We aren’t supposed to give reasons to be desperate.
That would be a nice thing. I would not refuse it.
If, however, they desire that even more than they desire the Lord, then they are a pretty poor witness about why anyone should want to be Christian.
I mean when push comes to shove... should we unwittingly take up the same tune as the homo crowd, and say that without the government’s sayso something can’t exist in reality?
If a right is God given then a government can go rogue and fight it, but it can’t overrule God... makes logical sense, no?
This is where the dimensions of the battle that extend past this world come into play. And all that gnarly stuff about witnesses and martyrs and crosses to bear. But also all that glorious stuff about victories... inevitably, the result of a staunchly faithful Christian attitude is to see the Kingdom progress on earth, not just to see Christians go down in colorful flames to wind up in heaven.
By court decrees against the will of the people and states.
Anyone have a list of which Supreme Court Justices are gay? Tried lookingt up but didn’t find a quick list on Google. Seems like Google doesn’t have this indexed which is surprising.
> But then, Liberals don’t understand moral arguments because they don’t have any morals.
Deserves to be repeated...
No, it's a statement of fact based on the world we live in today.
> If a right is God given then a government can go rogue and fight it, but it cant overrule God... makes logical sense, no?
You have to understand the liberal atheist mindset. They don’t give a damn about “God given” rights or “God give” anything. Their rules are that men give them “rights”. Men in the government that they kneel at the altar of...because government is their god.
Doesn’t matter for me what SCOTUS does, that’s the secular world, has nothing to do with me.
