An NBC Bay Area news crew was attacked early Thursday morning while reporting a story in a mugging that injured the photographer, whose camera gear was also stolen. A second station was also robbed of its gear.

The brazen attack occurred just before 6 a.m. at Pier 14 in San Francisco, where the reporter and photographer along with several other news stations were covering a story about a woman who had been shot to death there the night before.

As the two were about to go on air, a man pulled up to the curb in a black four-door BMW, approached the photographer and pistol-whipped him with a gun then shoved him to the ground, the photographer and reporter said. The man then grabbed the photographer's camera gear, and as he was struggling to get it inside his getaway car, returned to pistol whip the photographer again, the news crew reported

Where does a thief black market such equipment? This was motivated by something else.
Karma
My thinking as well. Your run of the mill gang banger won’t be up at 6 am.
Welcome to the Third World, NBC! Your wish has been granted!
Moonlighting union thugs.
The perp is black so obviously we can scratch off “racism” as a motivation. It’s a good thing the news people weren’t armed or we could be dealing with another Ferguson-style incident.
We regularly catch the scum from Oakland down here on the SF Peninsula burgling our homes. Lately they’ve begun invading our homes, too.
Theft of news crew hi-def cameras is quite common. They are easy pickings and I’ve read there’s a huge market for them in the porn “industry.”
News Crew Mugged, Cameras Stolen at San Francisco PierHow does it feel to be silenced?

The man then grabbed the photographer's camera gear, and as he was struggling to get it inside his getaway car, returned to pistol whip the photographer again,...'STOP! STOP! Don't shoot! We love you, we're on your side'.
Handguns are illegal in San Francisco.
Maybe even moonlighting cops.
There are some stories the City of San Francisco would rather not be heard.
The thought occurred to me.
I'm sure that BMW was reported stolen long ago but due to the fiscal disaster that liberals have created in California, recovering stolen cars is pretty low on their list of priorities.
Note how the article avoided advising the people to be on the look out for a Black.
One can only wish that this is a trend that blossoms. Then we may begin to see reporters in concealed carry mode while reporting on anti-gun protests and having THAT reported. Then too there is the issue of the domestic 5th estate borrowing the laurels of actual reporters in war zones such as Mexico possessing actual courage as they persist in the face of their colleagues getting killed regularly. If domestic reporters puff up their bona fides as a pillar of civilization based on the actions of a mere hand full of their peers, then in the name of integrity and accuracy in media, we should encourage their “re-education” as heroes and perhaps one day witness them turning on their “News Editor” masters and reporting what they actually observe.
There it is. The media goobers were just being called upon to contribute their part of the shared sacrifice we all - well, almost all - must make to further the transformation.
Yeah, it's gotten so bad that the scum of the SF Peninsula (East Palo Alto) now need to do their home invasions in the East Bay to put food on the table!
(At least they carjack clean-air vehicles and carpool together to these jobs, so they'll get time off for good environmental behavior.)
The perps just wanted to be able take selfies and become the next big hollywood producers.
