An Oregon official certified a ruling Thursday imposing a $135,000 fine against Christian bakers who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.
The official then ordered the owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa not to speak publicly about their conscientous decision to follow their religious beliefs by not baking any cakes for same-sex weddings.
The company has gone out of business due to the legal battle.
An article by The Daily Signal, a publication of the Heritage Foundation, states that Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian ordered Aaron and Melissa Klein to "cease and desist" from openly professing that they won't serve gay weddings because of their Christian beliefs.
Avakian cited an Oregon state law in his ruling:
"The Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries hereby orders (the Kleins) to cease and desist from publishing, circulating, issuing or displaying, or causing to be published … any communication to the effect that any of the accommodations … will be refused, withheld from or denied to, or that any discrimination be made against, any person on account of their sexual orientation."
On their Facebook page, the Kleins responded:
"This effectively strips us of all our First Amendment rights. According to the state of Oregon we neither have freedom of religion or freedom of speech."
The Kleins say they will appeal the ruling.
Even in this brief article, it appears the couple released a statement despite the gag. Wonder what will happen?
There is a different ways to play their game.
1. Only offer a cake with a combined male and female figurine on top. Integrate the figurine into the cake such that if it is removed it destroys the cake.
2. State that deviations from this request will have a special order tooling cost.
3. If asked for a male and male figurine or a female and female figurine state that the cost associated with that request includes a $5000 tooling charge for the special figurine and 6 months advance order.
4. Destroy the tooling after each request.
I would go to prison, and exercise freely my FIRST Amendment rights guaranteed in the Constitution.

When petty fascists like Avakian can freely get away with their unconstitutional actions, the country is cooked. Someone has to stop these tyrants.
The Episcopalians are selling the other denominations down the river by volunteering to do so. That will lead to more government coercion via the courts, obviously.

It is time for Oregonians to consider finding another state to live. You are frogs in a heating pot of water. Your state has become overwhelmed by ex-Californians who would take Oregon off the liberal cliff.
Charles Murray’s book “By the People” outlines some ways to fight via civil disobedience to this stuff. Was this a Article 3 court. sounds like an administrative court. if it is it needs to jump to an article 3 for any discussion about constitution etc.

No, we are getting closer to the point when the appeal involves guns. The time to follow the legal protocals is quickly dissipating and Christians and constitutional minded Americans who have followed the rules, who turned the other cheek will have to restore the constitution by force.
