I posted this story earlier. The Feds are trying to push this back on the city. Isn't San Fran a sanctuary city?

Just answered my own question. From the link:

"Freya Horne, counsel for the sheriff's office, said Friday that federal detention orders are not a "legal basis" to hold someone, so Sanchez was released April 15. San Francisco is a sanctuary city and local money cannot be spent to cooperate with federal immigration law."

Kice said ICE issued a detainer for Sanchez in March, requesting to be notified if he was going to be released. The detainer was not honored, she said. Freya Horne, counsel for the sheriff's office, said Friday that federal detention orders are not a "legal basis" to hold someone ...
Ahhh, Freya, Freya, Freya. The accusation wasn't "you released him," the accusation was "you didn't tell us you were going to release him."

Feds win this round, even though the feds have purposely failed to secure the border.
