I just wish one of the more serious candidates would start talking like Trump!
This is a fairly decent article.
The writer sees Trump for who he is and has been. Unlike so many folks though who do CNN, the WP, the DNC, and other Liberal enterprises bidding, this guy gets it just exactly right.
There is a problem, and if the GOP would only agree with Trump on these issues most of the nation agrees with Trump on, there would be no need for Trump.
So all the airheads to wet themselves over Trump, start expending your energy on getting the rest of the field to adopt his immigration and trade stances. That would be productive.
What is going on now isn’t.
I’ll damned if I’ll echo CNN, the WP, the DNC and others who reflexively trash anyone who dares stand up and tell it like it is on immigration.
There are some people on this forum who should be ashamed to have their pseudonym shown here after their actions of the last few weeks.
Grow up folks.
Politics is a contact sport. Get with the program you numbskulls.
I’d think that Trump’s appeal is much like Bernie Sanders. They have a record of political positions, are loudly outspoken and, most importantly, they cannot be tied to the elite in either party. Folks don’t want a Bush, Clinton, or anybody they perceive to be like them.
It’s simple.
1) He is saying what he really thinks without worrying about political correctness or being slammed by the media. The majority finds that quite refreshing.
2) He is willing to suffer personal financial losses (i.e. Univision, Macy’s, etc.) for the sake of staying true to his principles.
3) He is saying the things about immigration that the majority thinks, but no one else will say aloud.
4) He is willing to fight back when attacked (suing Univision, barring their execs from his golf course, etc.) which makes him the anti-Romney.
Trump is speaking the truth, and everyone knows it.
Better, he doubles down. Might be his ultimate downfall, but to many of us, it is about time someone said it.
The networks are all spinning that Trump disparaged “Mexican Immigrants” WRONG. He is disparaging “Illegal Mexican Immigrants”. Big difference; but you won’t hear the word “Illegal” anymore. Not PC.
His defense should be to point out that he is talking about the “Illegal” invaders; not the legal ones. The media is spinning his story without a challenge.
- How this differs from, say, Rand Paul's position I can't tell.
- Obviously, the Trump empire likes cheap groundskeepers and busboys just as much as the rest of the CoC does.
For me, Trump is a breath of fresh air. I am sick of voting for Republicans only to be stabbed in the back by their lack of guts and leadership. I know Cruz would do right if he were to be elected but many running for the Republican nomination have huge question marks on them.
I like your post, but I would take it a lot further.
The gop knows how to fight. We have a speaker of the house who punishes representatives who vote in accordance with representing their district.
We have a majority senate leader who cheats in primaries, and had this to say on Jan 7.
Were in active discussion on TPA, said McConnell, adding, Its an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president, but thats how much we believe in trade as an important part of Americas economy.
I used to love Trey Gowdy, watching his takedown of the leftists, but what the heck happened. The R’s are investigating Benghazi, nothing. They are investigating the IRS, again nothing. How about Fast and furious, oh that’s right nothing. In the meanwhile, The D’s put Scooter Libby in jail, not for outing Valerie Plame, but I guess for not talking to them the right way. I saw Issa on tv complaining about how they couldn’t get certain irs agents before congress.
Even when the D’s are not in majority, they manage to get their agenda pushed through. When R’s tell us they need the majority in order to be effective, we end up with crap, and for me, that does also include the tpa vote.
I really do believe the sad truth is that they are both working together to get rid of tea party / Conservative types. Trump is neither of those 2 things, but I don’t believe he is being bought off.
