Anti-gun Senators Joe Manchin and Pat Toomey just announced they want to bring back their toxic legislation stripping Americans of their gun rights without due process of law. Their legislation sought to BAN many private sales of firearms, forcing countless gun buyers to run to a dealer and submit to a background check before making their purchase.
Thankfully, Senators Toomey and Manchin failed. But we can be sure that their proposal will be an infringement of Second Amendment rights, and it will do nothing to stop real criminals from getting guns.
Realize that this background check expansion is just a ploy to erect more obstacles to owning guns. The more that people have to seek permission to buy a gun, the easier it becomes for gun control advocates to find reasons to deny them.
We've already seen this in the way veterans have been targeted and prevented from owning guns because they suffer from PTSD -- symptoms related to their service for our country.
Ironically, the recent South Carolina shooting demonstrates the FAILURE of gun control. The Charleston gunman bought his gun from a dealer and passed a background check. More background checks is NOT the answer. But making it easier for law-abiding citizens to carry concealed will make a difference. That will save lives.
Toomey’s a liberal, and will go the way of Snarlin’ Arlen Specter and switch parties.
There had better be a chance to stop him. Any senator who votes for gun control must be primaried!
The more ‘dictator’ he gets, the more people think people should have guns. A conundrum for him, to be sure.

“Republican” used to have meaning. Pat Toomey epitomizes those who are betraying the party’s grassroots all for the sake of staying in office. He wouldn’t know a constitutional principle if it smacked him in the face.
Toomey: the Arlan Specter. Through and through traitor. Got the conservatives to elect him in PA and then immediately came out of the closet as a liberal.

"Good old" Mitch has basically helped Obama accomplish most items on his agenda, helping King 'O' cement his "legacy."
The only way to put a stop to this constant attacks against the American people and their protections found in the US Constitution is a State Constitutional Convention under Article V.
Until the American people amend the existing US Constitution to make it absolutely clear the limits placed on this out of control government, nothing we do will stop the socialist and RINO’s from this trek down communist road over the expressed objections of the American people!

Both legal. My jaw dropped and I said, "but I thought you were a raging liberal?" She chuckled and didn't know what to say. LOL

I’m still waiting for someone to explain what Constitutional authority the feral government has to require that I get their permission or approval to sell privately owned property to another citizen, particularly intrastate.

Background checks are also back-door registration that is intended to lead to confiscation.
