CNN - Whatever New Hampshire saw in Donald Trump, it looks like Iowa is seeing it too.
After taking second place in the latest New Hampshire polls, Trump is also claiming the silver in Iowa -- where he traveled hot off his announcement -- claiming 10% of support among likely caucus-goers, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker continues to lead the Republican field in the Hawkeye state with 18%, while Ben Carson tied with Trump for second. Walker has yet to announce he is running for president, but is expected to launch his campaign this month.
While Walker sits eight points ahead of the field, the rest of the fray of Republican White House hopefuls is tightly packed within the poll's margin of error. Just one point behind Carson and Trump lie Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas. Floridians Jeb Bush, the state's former governor, and Marco Rubio, a senator, trail closely with 8% and 7%, respectively.
Conspicuously missing from the top ranks are the Iowa caucus's last two victors, evangelical favorites Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. Huckabee notches 5% to Santorum's 4%.

the headline of this story is that walker, who hasn’t even declared his candidacy yet, is leading 15 people that have.
If repubs are looking to Donald Trump to be the party’s savior in 2016, this election is already lost.

People want bold, aggressive leadership. Walker did in WI. Trump is talking that way. That’s why they are up front. I’ll be interested to see if Cruz makes any headway with his book media tour events. I’d like to see him bump up a little bit to show he can get some traction.
Trump is more bluster and bragging than bold and aggressive. I guess if that’s the style you like in a leader - what the hey, Mussolini did all right with it.
sadly, history could repeat itself. I do think there are several republican candidates that could possibly run as an independent when they don’t win the nomination — thereby guaranteeing us The Second Coming of The Clenis. trump is certainly one. nutty rand paul is another.
That’s disappointing. That Trump and even Schmuckabee are out-polling a great candidate like Cruz does not speak well of the GOP folks. Makes me wonder about polling shenanigans.
I won't vote for Trump. But Trump's positive is that he says what he's going to do. He addresses the issues head on. Other politicians hide behind politi-speak while saying little.
Look what it’s got him. Lots of trouble for nothing. Cruz (for example) can make the same points without sounding like a buffoon and creating so much trouble for himself. Trump is different only in that he sounds like Joe the Plumber or something.
LOL. Cute. Cruz is in it for the book sales anyway. He will survive and maybe might even be Senate majority someday. He is like Michele Bachmann who had her 5 percent but couldn’t expand that group. Cruz will be out by Florida.
The left will be doing everything they can to destroy him. I like the fact that he doesn’t back down when he says the truth.
It all depends on who hits the top tier. I'm still waiting, lots of time to decide. We could do worse.
