yes, there are quite a number of mostly “secularized Jews” in Hollywood... and while Jews are not so welcome at Bohemian Grove, some do get invited there... and we hear similar rumors about some of the goings-on there. Ive never heard of any actual Baal worship, most of these people (from Christian and Jewish families) either have abandoned their received faith traditions or else claim to be members of a “liberal” congregation (which can amount to almost the same thing, IMHO). Where there is no “liberal” congregation, they can claim to still be members of traditional churches... and they just proclaim their secular views therein... or assert maybe that they know better, such as Nancy Pelosi. As long as those Churches don’t at least rebuke (and possibly excommunicate or disfellow) such people, they remain right there... to (IMHO) the shame of their priests or other clergy.
I’m trying to figure out practical ways the rest of us, clergy especially, can attract these sorts of people back to a more traditional or “genuine” (IMHO) Christian (or Jewish, or Catholic) faith. I could go on and complain, rail, bitch, and moan about them all night. What we need to do is figure out how to fix the problem these people pose for the rest of us in society.
You can take any subgroups of these folks you know the most about.....would some sort of organized, thoughtful outreach effort help reach some of them? They often have “attitudes” about regular Biblical religious observance....
that it is out-dated, that it is inconvenient, that it is superstitous, etc and etc.
There are some Catholic (and Jewish) outreach groups I’ve seen that are very sincere and... if they could “reach” these secularists.... would do them a whole lot of good (and thus, help solve the sociological problem they help create).
But, the ones I know about are very, well, committed to both good morals............and religious observance....observances which.... whatever else any of us think of them, are similar to what existed centuries ago...and thus look out-dated or primitive to the secularists.
I admit I don’t know the answer, I’m just thinking that a good additional outreach, possibly with some changes from what has not yet really succeeded in other such efforts or programs, is needed....
