“None of us are perfect,” she continued, before explaining that the baby had been planned with her former fiance before the relationship ended:
I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume.
This pregnancy was actually planned.
Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on.
But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!

Palin ends her post reasserting her pro-life beliefs:
I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now.
Deal with it.

You are either misinformed or made it up about this being Bristol’s 4th public broken engagement. She was engaged once to her teenaged high school boyfriend Levi Johnston with whom she had a child, and then this 2nd time to Dakota Meyer, whom she just broke off the wedding with upon allegedly finding out about his prior wife and also it appears another factor may be because of Dakota’s PTSD from his war years. Sarah Palin has also spoken publicly on the subject of PTSD recently. Coincidence? Here is an excerpt from a recent U.K. Daily Mail article about this:
“For Bristol, this is the second time she has called off a wedding at short notice. She was due to marry Levi Johnston, the father of her 6-year-old son Tripp, in 2008 but their relationship ended in acrimony.
She had been dating Meyer, whom she met while they were filming her mother’s show Amazing America, since last year and they got engaged in March. Meyer had been counting down the days to the wedding on his Instagram account.
He called it ‘the best day of his life’ when Palin proposed to him, and he wished his future bride Happy Mother’s Day by calling her ‘the best mother I know,’ adding ‘Thank you for being the amazing woman that you are!’
Sarah, the Republican vice-presidential candidate in 2008, announced the wedding was off on Facebook on Monday. ‘Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding,’ she wrote.
‘They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.’
Palin said the two families still intended to have a ‘great bar-b-que’ at the Meyer family farm in Kentucky to ‘celebrate life in general.’
Sarah also posted a picture of the words ‘Trust in God’s timing. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart.’
Added to Sarah’s statement, Bristol said she and Meyer had ‘discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement,’ and she knew he had been married and divorced.
But nurse Raelyn Stevens, a friend of Wain’s publicly called Meyer out on her Facebook page. ‘Tell the truth, Dakota Cassie doesn’t deserve to be in your mess,’ Stevens wrote.
Stevens said she and Wain used to call Meyer ‘Mater’ after the vehicle in the Pixar movie cars because of his southern accent. ‘We never discredit you as a marine, you were a great soldier,’ wrote Stevens.
‘We took you in after you came back from the hospital in Ohio and wanted to be there for you. What I’m not understanding is why this marriage to my best friend is something you are trying to hide.
‘You guys were young and infatuated with one another. You got married, then realized it was a mistake. No scandal, no abuse, no nothing. It was short lived and we thought you all remained civil.
‘Cassie is a small town girl who is beautiful and intelligent and just wants the past in the past,’ Stevens added. ‘Now she’s suffering off other people’s lives Dakota. She doesn’t want the spotlight like you do she wants to move on and you aren’t letting her.’
Stevens claimed that Meyer had been in contact with Wain as recently as October last year. ‘Leave her alone and let it go,’ she wrote. ‘We wish you all the best with your future Dakota. Just be honest.’
Within hours of that post, the wedding between Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer was off.”
If true, than the idiot is even more hopeless than I thought.
We're assuming she was the one who called it off.
Yeh not to be mean but if you are so in love with a guy that you deliberately get preggers before the wedding I can’t imagine that finding out he was previously married and divorced is a deal breaker.
Maybe the guy has PTSD and is violent and she doesn’t want to out him. I doubt it but it could happen. otherwise WTF?
I don’t care. I don’t care if the crazy girl has an illegitimate baby every 24 mos. Its just that when you post it on TMZ well it kind of solicits comment.
Far and away, this post of yours is the most informative and sensible one I have seen on this thread. Thank you.
Until reading your post, I was set on PM’ing JimRob to suggest that today is as good as any to sell this website and be thankful for all the good days Free Republic has operated in the past.
We are not a conservative website site anymore. Maybe not for quite a while.
If she was more talk and less action, maybe she wouldn't be pregnant now.
Well, that’s the other thing about this. You can’t complain about your privacy if you’re the one posting the stuff and getting replies you don’t like.
No-brainer.
Planning to get knocked up by saying she’s on the pill, plan?
Gosh you are positively obsessed with running Bristol down. I know you think you are being pithy and modern but take a look at your last week of postings. You positively look like an unhinged stalker of a 24 yr old girl. She was pregnant at 16...had a baby and loves him to death. Finds a nice guy at 24(7 yrs!!! later) who she thinksis the love of her life and has sex before marriage in anticipation of a long married life with lots of children who she will adore. Now she is pregnant and trying to work out the future. Check yourself before you keep looking foolish
You should probably try to calm down and relax. It could only benefit your health.
Fourth. Levi twice. Her “trial” to a guy named Gino, and now this. Her second to Levi was on the cover of a magazine she gave interviews to.
If you want to quote the Daily Mail, fine, but they are the ones with the coverage of the “trial marriage” to Gino.
So I’ll happily stand by and you can decide whether shacking up is engagement or not. To be nice, I say it is.
LOL! So at least I made you stop and look at your behavior. Honestly you are obviously a grown woman with experience. Bristol is young and has literally been hounded by millions and called horrible names since she was 16 because her mother is the hated Sarah Palin. I really can’t even imagine what this would do to a person(heck you just got snippy with me for calling out your multiple postings) Why don’t you regroup and try to consider what her life has been like for 8 yrs and find it in your heart not to be such a snarky person to a young girl whose greatest sin is that she wants a big family, loves kids and rushed ahead of the “perfect” situation that you and apparently 90% of freepers have attained in marriage and child raising.
Uh, no. You made me look at your behavior, which still seems fraught with a good deal of agitation.
Again, calm down. Try to recapture the "happy" in homemaker.
Talk about picking at nits. Levi twice. Now that really counts for something, doesn’t it. Sheeesh. Okay, you want Bristol to be a whore, wonderful. Hope it makes you happy. Enjoy your day, now that you are so sanctimonious over Bristol’s fall from grace. Perfection obviously makes you feel GOOD. Enjoy yourself.
My behavior is loving and trying to understand the hurt a young girl has experienced by being the “imperfect” daughter of the hated Sarah Palin who feels obligated to have to be sorry for being pregnant with a child that she already adores. She has been called a whore, slut, ghetto...and that is just on Free Republic.
Folks, this is post #115.
Those claiming we aren’t interested in Bristol’s affairs, please explain all the posts.
As it is, it is not true.
Four engagements. Two to the father of her first child, the second, surprising her own family on the cover of a magazine she gave an interview to and put herself and her child on.
Third to a guy named Gino, according to the exact same source Mrs. Palin spoke to. Unless you want to call “trial marriage” something else.
Fourth is to Sergeant Meyer.
Being conservative does not mean worshipping people who make bad, destructive decisions. Being conservative does not mean calling something bad good.
Being conservative means telling the truth and calling out hypocrisy. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2125137/Bristol-Palin-enter-trial-marriage-cohabitation-boyfriend--reality-TV-cameras.html
I wonder if this played any part in her breaking of her engagement. If the young man is the father, you would think that they would have gone on with the wedding so the child would not be an out of wedlock baby.
Called out, you cast aspersions because the truth is not with you.
She was engaged to Levi twice. It was so important to Bristol that she surprised her family by letting them know when the interview she gave came out.
Wasn’t that thoughtful of her? If it was important enough for her to celebrate twice, who are you to claim different?
And, using your source, I gave her credit and called shacking up an engagement. If you have a different word, feel free to use it.
You are the one who insisted on the Daily Mail. Turns out that wasn’t a good choice on your part. Selling yourself and your life on reality TV and in social media has a downside.
I don’t care much for hypocritical people who can’t take what they readily dish out. They engage in moral relativism, which is how we got where we are now.
I unapologetically will not make excuses for moral relativism, or for its practitioners.
